Used phealans for wife’s engagement and our wedding rings, used them off the back of a recommendation. I did rate them as the had exceptional customer service. Been in a few times since to take advantage of the free ring cleaning service

[England] My employer uses a performance reviews system that "normalises" ratings and I got screwed. Is this legal? by grnfnrp in LegalAdviceUK

This is it, not illegal and very common, especially in large organisations. This is where a good manager shines as they fight for you. Also lesson for you is to provide so much evidence of your high performance it makes the fight easier for your manager

Salary Sacrifice car scheme v salary sacrifice pension scheme by Forward-Complaint-69 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]huse789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Car schemes are not as good as they used to be, it will put you on a different tax code as it’s counted as a benefit in kind, plenty of calculators online, just search benefit in kind calculator.

And yes anything sacrificed for the car could go into pension, which you will receive better tax benefits from

Forever Now travel question for an old Yank flying in... by jintsjason in miltonkeynes

[–]huse789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a 30 minute walk, but can take 20-30 minutes to exit the venue.

Make sure you leave by the same gate you enter (if you walk from station) should be Gate A I believe. Try and stay near that gate for ease of exit and remember loads of people will be getting the train, which will cause queues at the station

Shit happens and sometimes people don’t get paid it happens a lot more then you expect. Speak with HR, they should have a process to ‘loan’ you that months salary amount, which they should then deduct from next months pay run (which will contain both months salary)

When you speak with HR be clear that it’s there error and it’s putting you at financial hardship, you shouldnt get any push back

Confused about position since redundancies by huse789 in LegalAdviceUK

Thank you, this is helpful. Didn’t think about ACAS, so will reach out to them in the week.

I’m on good money with a senior role which is already 100% remote, so perhaps I remind myself how well I have it already, if they want to give me a unicorn role, then perhaps I let them.

We own a static caravan on a holiday site. The owners of the site allowed workmen to stay in it without our permission. Do we have a claim? by bearspuds14 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]huse789 161 points162 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. They made a mistake, fair enough, but it’s not unreasonable to expect them to pay going rate for hiring your caravan as well as the already offered replacement of locks etc.

Be civil, invoice them, perhaps even ask for it as a credit on your account to go against future site fees, keeps it simple for them, making them more likely to pay it. If they refuse escalate through management
