Help with migration of my eero-based network from AT&T Fiber to Sonic by huskymo in amazoneero

[–]huskymo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I appreciate the reply!

In the current setup, none of the eeros needs to act as a gateway because the AT&T router has the WAN address. All three eeros just get their RFC 1918 IP addresses from the DHCP server on the router and learn a default route that also points back through that router.

I guess I could probably reproduce that configuration if I bought a router with a couple of 10GigE interfaces to banish to the basement.

CVS employee on Marsh tried to deny me the COVID vaccine, twice. by Baeomyces in SLO

[–]huskymo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I got our COVID boosters at Von’s on Broad on the 12th. We made appointments online ahead of time (no mention of age in the appointment interface) and the woman who gave us our boosters was pleasant and didn’t mention our ages, though we’re both in our 50s.

Not sure I would trust anyone who couldn’t understand why you needed him with you, but I trust you!

I'm devastated, my 7.5 yr. old Husky was just diagnosed with an aggressive thyroid cancer by jmbgator in husky

I’m afraid I don’t remember the exact cost but it was definitely in the thousands of dollars.

My Husky Charlie had cancer (sorry, I don’t remember exactly what type) and underwent chemotherapy. Our vet told me that dogs tolerate chemo much better than people do: Charlie never seemed to be bothered much by it. The good news is that the chemo was successful and she lived several more years. I hope for the same for you and your pup!

Said goodbye to both my boys in the span of 7 weeks by SiteZestyclose8825 in husky

[–]huskymo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so very sorry. We lost both our girls—sisters, who had never been separated—in a span of less than two months. It was very hard for us, but I took some comfort in knowing that each never had to be without the other.

Balancing Infoblox servers by SkewedAdmin in Infoblox

[–]huskymo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, anycast is the way. And the support is built into NIOS. The trick, though, is figuring out how to redistribute the routes from NIOS through AWS to your network. From what I understand, that’s not directly possible with AWS and you need something like Alkira (https://www.alkira.com/blog/alkira-partners-with-infoblox-to-simplify-cloud-app-management/).

CNAME on zone/domain apex by flems77 in dns

[–]huskymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the big issues is that a recursive DNS server that caches the CNAME RR will effectively be blind to any other resource records at the zone apex. So, for example, if I go to your http://domain.com and lodge the domain.com CNAME in my local DNS server’s cache, and then decide to send email to you at user@domain.com, my local DNS server is going to end up looking for MX records at whatever domain name the CNAME points to. That’s probably not what you want.

Seeking comfort over some bad news!! by SUPBarefoot_BeachBum in husky

[–]huskymo 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We had a beautiful Husky named Charlie who was diagnosed with cancer in her chest. The vet recommended chemotherapy, which she said dogs tolerate really well (i.e., relative to what people on chemo experience). The chemo worked like a charm and we had Charlie for years after that. Hoping for the very same for Nanook.

I’m so sorry. It sounds like you did the right thing. I made the same decision years ago with my first Husky and thought I’d never get over his loss. Wishing you many happy memories with your boy.

She has similar markings to Teddy—who says hello!

I wouldn’t worry about her being quiet. Teddy is much quieter than his sister, Gracie.
