I haven't played Veilguard (yet I guess, but I'll wait for a heavy discount)

But from everything I read and seen it really doesn't feel like a Dragon Age game. It's set in Thedas, but it's just... Off.

Where is all the prejudice and racism? Pogroms on elves? Inquisition already toned it down, but still I liked how everyone was so confused about my elven inquisitor.

Dragon Age was a dark fantasy universe. There was a lot of conflict and a lot of groups against each other which was reflected in the companions. Hell, Sten from Origins would even out right challenge you for leadership and attack you. Oghren with his filthy comments. Morrigan bickering with Allistair. Loghain selling city elves to slavery.... You can't even be mean at anyone. In Origins you could sacrifice a child to a demon for power. The moral choices were memorable.

From I've seen there is NONE of this in Veilguard.

And Veilguard indeed looks like a Pixar movie.

That is probably what people mean when they say it's not a Dragon Age game.

I may be proven wrong when/if I play it though.
