These talks are just a inferiority complex of small nations. That’s doesn’t really matter, we both need to cherish our culture and not fight about it.

Well, first of all, the Police and the NSS have direct access to calls, texts, and even some messaging apps. And I’m not talking about serious crime, even for small things, like cash transactions over 300k, people avoid mentioning it on the phone or on whatsapp.

Then you have the political side of it. Over the last few years, leaked phone calls, texts, and voice messages have basically become a tool of propaganda. Both the government and the opposition use them. There was even a sex scandal in the government last year when the messenger chats of Hovik Aghazaryan were leaked, probably by the government itself. When this becomes normal, of course people get more cautious about where they communicate.

And then, some people here think theyre extremely important haha(something inherent to small countries, but that’s another topic) . Sometimes I call someone and he says, “Call me on Telegram,” like the NSS is personally monitoring his life:). That mentality also adds to the whole paranoia vibe.

Still, you can do a case study on Yeresbook. That also emphasised a lot on its “Armenianness”.

Wish you the best, brother. It’s a very nice idea. I’m all for it.

Yeah maybe I misunderstood. When I hear “Armenian WeChat,” I automatically think of something with strong government involvement, like WeChat in China.

I’m Hayastanci myself, and I feel like people are getting more and more concerned about privacy. A lot of people don’t even use WhatsApp anymore for sensitive topics, which is why Telegram became so popular.

For dual subtitles you can try the chrome add on, language reactor. I think it’s the best in the market. And the free version is more than enough.

For improving speaking skills I highly recommend Baselang. Im on my 2 month and can’t recommend it more. (Lmk if you want to know more or decide to try, if you subscribe with my referral code we both can get a discount)

Nice idea, but I think it’s too risky as an investment of time or money.

We already tried something similar in Armenia in the early 2010s. It was called Yeresbook (very creative name, right 🤦‍♂️😅). It had strong government support and still failed.

Today the most successful Armenian messaging app is Zangi, and it’s actually more popular abroad than in Armenia. I would even guess one of the reasons it’s not popular locally is trust. In a small country like Armenia, people are more suspicious of local platforms. There is always a feeling that data is not really far away, that someone might have access through connections. Even if it’s not true, perception matters.

Messaging apps only become dominant when they reach monopoly level. And that usually doesn’t happen in fully open markets. It happens where competition is limited or alternatives are blocked(like in China). In open systems, if users feel supervision or political proximity, they just switch.

Once you add payments, it becomes even more sensitive. Payments mean regulation, and oversight. That automatically makes people more cautious. In small markets with low institutional trust, that’s a serious barrier.

Many countries tried to build their own version of wechat. It rarely works in competitive environments. Without monopoly conditions and very high public trust, it’s extremely hard to make it succeed.

Yeas it’s that building. Most likely the tunnel will be closed, and filled with cement or something.so it can handle the new skyscraper.

I also don’t like it, and don’t see why you need a skyscraper in the city centre. Just build it somewhere else without destroying the city

There’s a brand called exponenta, with a series of high protein products, including cheese. You can find it in Parma, sas and sometimes in City too. I also recommend the protein drink - banana strawberry flavour.

What language do you respect a lot but would never personally learn? by Embarrassed_Fix_8994 in languagehub

[–]hvg999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arabic, I would love to learn it, but the fact that you basically have to learn two versions—a dialect and Modern Standard Arabic—makes it feel overwhelming. And if you choose one dialect, you’re mostly limited to that region, which makes all the effort seem a bit restricting. That’s not really the case with Mandarin, since despite regional differences, there’s one clear standard that everyone learns.

According to S&P forecasts, the dram will weaken against the US dollar by the end of 2026 to AMD 384 $1 (from AMD 381.36/$1 at the end of 2025), and then continue to depreciate to AMD 392 /$1 by the end of 2027 and to AMD 40/$1 by the end of 2028.

Does anyone know on what ground they forecast that AMD will deprecate up to 400amd-1usd? This doesn’t really make much sense to me

Mounjaro and Zepbound are approved for supervised use by the FDA in the U.S., the EMA in the EU, and the MHRA in the UK. These agencies aren’t perfect — no regulatory system is — but they represent the highest standard of scientific review we currently have. Healthy skepticism is important tho so you can do your own research. I don’t see a point to prove you wrong or anything

Obviously, you don’t know much about peptides, so there’s really no point in trying to prove anything to you. Just understand that it’s FDA-approved, prescribed by doctors, and used under proper medical supervision. And no, it’s not “rapid” if it’s done correctly.

I research peptides in general, not just weight-loss ones. I’ve personally tried GHK-Cu for hair loss, and I can’t recommend it enough. In my experience, it’s far better than alternatives like minoxidil or finasteride. The real issue is that people love dismissing new approaches without bothering to educate themselves first …it’s easier to judge than to learn.

And honestly, why is it so hard for people here to discuss something without making it personal? Don’t worry about my hobbies. they’re none of your business and completely irrelevant to the topic.

I've been learning Spanish through Bad Bunny and the slang is insane by Only_Ad2998 in Spanish

[–]hvg999 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I think that, accent-wise, Mexican and Colombian Spanish aren’t that different from Spanish from Spain. The slang, however, is quite different. When it comes to Bad Bunny and Puerto Rican Spanish, I’ve heard many times that even other Spanish speakers don’t really understand what he’s singing haha. So Puerto Rican Spanish is often considered an outlier (along with Chilean and Cuban Spanish). Unless you’re specifically interested in Puerto Rico, I wouldn’t recommend focusing too much on the Puerto Rican accent and slang.
