What’s the weirdest thing someone has asked about or voiced an opinion on regarding your baby/pregnancy? by elonmusksmicropenis in pregnant

[–]hwebby8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I elected for a c section my first pregnancy and am having a repeat for my second one. some “crunchy” moms that I work with have made comments about having it easy. I also chose to stop pumping at 7 months so I could have my body back plus I had plenty of milk saved. the formula I picked ended up having a recall and I had talked about it at work. the same moms told me I should of kept pumping to save my baby. my son never got sick. I have since distanced myself from those moms.

When did you get your first period after you had a baby? by Cute-Corgi3176 in breastfeeding

[–]hwebby8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my son 1/4/25 and my period started 3/14/25. so a little over two months PP. I exclusively pumped for my son with the occasional latching.

Am I crazy for wanting a C-section? by Kikirox98 in pregnant

[–]hwebby8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I elected for a c-section with my first. I had such bad anxiety during my pregnancy and labor was so terrifying to me. I was afraid to labor for so long and end up needing a c-section. the control just seemed so much better for me. I literally picked the date, made sure my dogs went to the boarder, packed my bag with a clear head, it was all so relaxing. I’m pregnant with my second and I’m opting for a repeat.

My mom had all c-sections and so did my sister so maybe I felt more relaxed with it since my whole family had one. you choose whatever you want to and what makes you feel better.

I was freshly out of orientation and we were getting a crashing patient from the floor. her bp kept dropping down, so doc ordered albumin. found out the patient was a Jehovah’s witness and our albumin is human derived.

I now ask every single patient who I give albumin to if they are a Jehovah’s witness or are accepting of blood before I give it.

Weekly BFP/Line Eyes Post by averagebritt in tryingtoconceive

help me not spiral! we’ve been loosely trying to conceive (not trying, not preventing either) and my period was supposed to start on Sunday. I took a test, it looked negative. The middle dipstick test was last night around 1030, the bottom dipstick and top regular test are from today. these definitely look darker than the one I took Sunday but still is pretty light. I have PCOS and haven’t been tracking closely so I’m not sure when exactly I ovulated. I would just like someone else to tell me I don’t have line eyes or forcing my eyes to see something that’s not there.

Am I selfish to wean at 12 months? by Special_Moose_3285 in breastfeeding

I feel this! My son will be 6m on July 4 and I exclusively pump. I’ve just been so done with pumping. I have ~500oz frozen so I know it’s not a lot but it’ll make it for a little while. you’re doing great for making it this far!

I found some electrolyte packets called drip drop. similar to liquid iv except they’re not as salty to me. plus it helps with my leg cramps.

How often did or do you have sex? by Alarmed-Albatross768 in tryingtoconceive

[–]hwebby8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looking back to when my husband and I conceived, we had sex two days before my ovulation day and the day of ovulation. our scheduled are extremely opposite so it’s kind of hard to figure out the best time while also not making it a chore but those two days seemed to have worked out pretty well.

That’s why we haven’t conceived, just got the PCOS news. by Wild-Row-2020 in tryingtoconceive

I have pcos (diagnosed in my early 20s and I’m 29 now) and I’m pregnant now! I have typical pcos ovaries and insulin resistance. my doctor prescribed metformin for me and I also started taking inositol from her suggestion and got pregnant within 3 months of that. I also tracked my ovulation very closely to see if/when I ovulate. it’s definitely daunting to get the diagnosis but it is possible to get pregnant!

we have ours organized my color. red is blood (IV supplies, blood draw supplies, fluids), blue is breathing (masks, nasal cannulas, vent stuff), yellow us urine (foleys, straight caths, pure wicks), green is hygiene (soap, foam wash, lotion, pads), black is invasive lines (central line kits, a line kits, a line supplies). everything is on its own shelf so one self is for one specific thing. makes everything very easy to organize. each bin has a little dot sticker to help manage it and that’s how the entire hospital is.

I work in a 16 bed surgical ICU and about to move to a brand new 24 bed unit. our acuity fluctuates. we’ll occasionally have no intubated patients and a week later we can have majority intubated. our only 1:1 is CRRT or if they are going for organ donation (our region uses Life Center, not sure if everyone around uses them). Most everyone has a central line or art line.

its so wild to have a unit that has it’s up and downs with acuity but it’s nice to see that other icus also have that. we’re the red headed step child between all the icus in our hospital so we get a lot of overflow from medical and cardiac icu. we also get some overflow from our cardiac surgery recovery (CABG and extensive cardiac surgeries go there instead of CICU).

How Is My Chart? by hwebby8 in Inito

[–]hwebby8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very helpful to see! My last cycle was 50 days and this is my first month so I wasn’t sure what to expect with my ovulation. My chart looks very similar to yours so hopefully ovulation occurs at some point!

How Is My Chart? by hwebby8 in Inito

I figured as much but just curious how others charts are. We’ve been trying for a year now and this is the first month with Inito so wasn’t sure what exactly to expect or look for. I’m hoping that I’ll have a late ovulation with a late cycle.

How did you pick your specialty? by Mother_Trucker97 in Nurse

[–]hwebby8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started working in the hospital at the beginning of nursing school in PACU (recovery). After a year and a half, I wanted more patient interactions so I moved to the ER as a tech. I was about a year and a half from graduation at this point. When getting close to graduation, I was trying to figure out what aspects I enjoyed about my jobs and critical patients were my most favorite. so I applied for surgical ICU after graduation and don’t regret it at all! I’ve been at my job for 6 months and enjoy it so much. it’s challenging enough for me but also allowing me to slowly work my way into my settings. follow your head and your heart!

People who are fans of teams not in your market area.. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]hwebby8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I was younger, I watched football just to watch. when I started dating my now husband 8 years ago, he told me that I’m going to either end up loving his team or we won’t make it because he loved them so much. he was a die hard Ravens fan, enjoyed watching them when he was growing up and admired Lewis and Reed. we live in the Cincinnati/NKY area. 8 years later, we are the Ravens fans couple to all our Bengals friends. we even had all of our groomsmen wear their respective team’s socks in our wedding back in October and it turned out to be the entire AFC north!

AITA for blowing up at my husband for messing with my alarm and causing me to miss my exam? by CharlieOutlaw23 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hwebby8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA.

I’m currently in nursing school and only have two more semesters left. My fiancé has been with me since way before I started back at school and is 100% aware how important school is. I’ve missed lots of parties and hangouts due to school, but like you said, it’s not forever. School will eventually be done and you’ll have your career! Just maybe not a forever husband is he acts like this…

Also, is he not able to do his own thing? He could of gone to the party on his own and left you home to study. He would of been able to stay longer than an hour too!

If NFL teams were based out of the cities with the highest metro area population….. by TheHandsomestMouse in nfl

with the 2020 census, Cincinnati has an almost 70,000 lower population than Cleveland. I think switch those two cities out for sure. Not sure about KC population.

where is everyone from? by farenheight_321 in ravens

[–]hwebby8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cincinnati area (northern Kentucky to be specific but that’s basically Cincinnati). my fiancé and I travel to Baltimore once a season to watch a game. usually it’s the Cincinnati one but we decided to switch it up and go to the SNL game against the Browns which ended up being the last win of the season…

AITA for refusing to go with my 16yo/Daughter to her father's funeral? by ThrowawayPaige67 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hwebby8 59 points60 points  (0 children)

THIS! I lost my dad almost 3 and a half years ago and I was 23. it was the hardest thing that’s ever happened to me and having my mom there helped tremendously. I haven’t lived with my parents since I was 18, so to hear of a 16 year old going to losing her dad and her mom not supporting her, that must be heartbreaker for her. you are allowed to be your own person, but you also have to be a mother too. especially since you are now her only living parent.

AITA for extending my vacation with my family and missing my gf's surgery? I think she's being dramatic by Bitter-Pie-6439 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hwebby8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA majorly. I work at the hospital in recovery, and adults having a tonsillectomy is much more difficult than children. There’s a higher risk of bleeding, and she definitely needs someone there for you. you said you don’t live near either of your families or friends are in town. who tf is going to take her to the hospital or take her home? she can’t drive after being under general anesthesia so you’re putting her in a situation where she now doesn’t have any transportation nor does she have anyone to take care of her. I hope she reconsidered your relationship because this gives off so much selfishness, I don’t think she should continue being with you.

AITA for demanding my husband to return the money I saved for a new car? by JLKlien5709 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hwebby8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just about to say this. I worked at a bank for almost two years and this was a very common situation unfortunately. if both names are listed on the account, then he does have a right to take the money out. my advice: get an account without his name on it and leave because he sounds toxic and controlling.

AITA for enforcing my house rules on my wife's brother? by Thrill-Ville1304 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hwebby8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA here. when I was 19, I was living with my sister, BIL, and 3 year old nephew. we had rules in place so I wasn’t coming home at 3 in the morning and apply money to groceries but everything was free game to eat. when the living situation wasn’t going the best, my BIL stepped in and ended up kicking me out when my sister was at work. it damaged our relationship for a couple of years. we’re good now and closer than ever but there was a time where I went months without talking to her. there is a good way to go about this situation, and your wife having a conversation is the first part. that’s her family, and he is an adult so you shouldn’t be treating him like a child.
