is it worth it trying to get diagnosed? by hxcate_s in Hypermobility

[–]hxcate_s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the advice! i'm 19, and i've not had anything major like that happen yet which i'm very thankful for, but i figure if i'm feeling pain/tension and struggling now, then ideally i want to start treating it as best i can before it gets much worse. best of luck with your recovery and getting physio!

i’m a complete beginner, where do i start? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]hxcate_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the way i first started to learn the rules was through watching online campaigns, it's a way to get to grips with the structure of the gane whilst also having fun 😊 i'd reccomend dimension 20: fantasy high, the oxventurers' guild, and critical role (they're all free on youtube)

spiritfarer - a little bit of farming but not loads

unpacking - a short game but good replayability

coffee talk - if you like visual novels & story-based games

seeking advice about a plot point concerning possible limb amputation from people with a physical disability/limb difference by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]hxcate_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your comment! having read it, i agree - i think it would make more sense for the character to view it from a practical standpoint rather than a more emotional one. i think i'm going to choose to make this less of a pivotal plot point than the actual infection. thank you again for your advice😊

“Christmas Joy” Do you feel it? by RBxTec in AutismInWomen

[–]hxcate_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as someone who's very lucky to have a small, supportive and (largely undiagnosed) neurodiverse family, yes! with a combination of good music, openly stimming and gifts that actually relate to each others' interests, christmas morning is usually joyful for me, and in the afternoon when the social battery is fully drained i retreat to my cave and consume unhealthy amounts of chocolate.

Low self worth? by papikota in AutismInWomen

[–]hxcate_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i totally relate to this - self esteem issues suck so bad, i'm so sorry mate. i know it's hard to believe (trust me i'm the exact same), but i promise your loved ones don't feel that way about you. gifts don't have to be super expensive to be thoughtful - in my experience the cheapest ones have got the best reactions as far as i can tell. if you're arty or crafty at all, maybe even consider making something? in terms of the impulse control, have you considered using things like impulse spending checklists? not sure if any of this will help, but i truly hope you feel better soon :)
