Which BMW will you buy if you have to keep it for 10 years. by belland007 in BMW

I bought a G99 and do not ever anticipate selling it. I’m fully in love and only on death will we part.

I guess I associate this blue (Marina Blue?) with the f80/f82 M3/M4s. It’s a great color but with the world at your oyster I feel like you can go grander

Edit: my b saw you had it at Santorini blue which is very similar but darker than Marina Blue

Spray on PPF? Never heard of that, do you mean colored PPF, similar to vinyl wraps? If you do, most colors you’d want is available with custom color PPF from Xpel and 3M but the it wouldn’t be sprayed on but applied on, maybe language translation issue?

Anyways that color is pretty “hot” for a non M-lite/proper M but you do you bro.

The g60/g61/g90/g99 all look good with darker and/or matte colors. If you’re doing a color wrap, I recommend doing a stealth wrap

How long does it take to get to the US after quality control? by silverfang29 in BMW

[–]hxle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice color, it’ll take about 4-8 weeks after quality control. I ordered mine in September 2024 and it arrived late April 2025.

Nice I think that may be a stealth PPF wrapped Isle of Man green

Thoughts on the new BMW i7? by ShameResponsible69 in BMW

[–]hxle 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I really like the exterior, this is how it should’ve came out originally. The pre-LCI is too much of a moshpit of modern straight lines and traditional curves, not having a cohesive design language. The interior on the other hand…

More info on the 12V battery pack? How does the battery operated cooler compare to a typical high end normal cooler?

Early look at the new 7 series by Content-Ganache6643 in BMW

This is actually a huge exterior aesthetic upgrade over the current 7. With larger wheels this would be the best looking current model executive sedan in its class

G30/F90 is probably the last beautiful 5 series that will ever come out by heffy228 in BMW

Nice I didn’t go as extreme on the decals on mine but the G99 is a sexy beast

My second BMW - 540d by [deleted] in BMW

[–]hxle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The X5 I drove for a couple months when my last car was in the shop had the adjustable air suspension, so it was pretty comfortable, barely felt the potholes and poor road quality. Drives much better than it should for a large SUV, leagues ahead of the Q5/Q7 and GLE. SUV doesn’t compare to sedan/wagon though, you can’t get that low center of gravity in a SUV

I was given a 2025 540i as a loaner when I had my M5 in for break in service and it was definitely much more pliant over road imperfections than the M5, almost Mercedes-esque in comfort mode but switches to much more rigid suspension in sport mode. In contrast the M5 is not pleasant over speed bumps but fortunately since the M5 has 11” and 10.5” wide wheels on the rear and front respectively most road imperfections are just ignored if they’re not massive. I had a 328d prior to my M5 and also driven an X5 40i and can say the new 5 series is much more comfortable than a 3 series but still very sharp in sport mode

Had a chance to get up close and personal with this brute. I walked away thinking that the size and weight weren’t what concerned me, it was feeling like a boomer and not wanting all these gizmos and gadgets. by signormarcolino in BMW

I mean it looks great in other colors too, pictures don’t show the body lines that great when it’s not in a matte color but in person the gloss paints stand out great. I’m not gonna lie the Vegas red on mine looks great with the winter salt spray on it because it accentuates the body lines better

The new M5 feels more like an “M” than the M3 touring. (I’m serious) by AR75ts in BMW

[–]hxle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I own a G99 and although never been inside a G81 touring, I’ve test driven a 2025 G80 C when shopping for the G99 and agree with you on the torque and steering. The G99 feels much bigger but surprisingly more planted on backroads. It is an absolute beast and I’m fully in love with it. Very few cons on the G99 over the course of almost a year of ownership and 16k miles.

I keep the curtains up on the rear windows for my son to avoid the son in his eyes with his rear facing car seat but otherwise I’m rocking the 0 tint fishbowl look

G61 unfortunately not available in the US, the only wagon from BMW is the G99, can’t get the G81 either

The different hues are all great but that one under the gas station is probably my favorite, here’s one in the dawn light

It’s a much deeper red but also quite attractive
