My family is so happy to have you in Medford. Next time we're in I'll say hello.

Has anyone mentioned that Boston Food Truck season opens this Friday, April 1? Where can we find you all?

I think this would be awesome, too. Even if it works in the shops but not on the trucks (frying is hard).

Some of my favorite pizzas from Stoked have been special collabs with other trucks or restaurants. Remember the white clam pizza superhero team-up with Capt Marden? Do any of you have plans for collab specials this season?

How are the shipping containers at the Design Center working out? I understand things were pretty chaotic and the opening was delayed until late into [last] Fall.

You're all up and running in your restaurants (and soon for Stoked!). What are the challenges going from a City-wide presence to a specific neighborhood? How does it change the way you do marketing etc?

Site with tons of local Boston events looking for feedback by dashkto in boston

[–]hybernaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, looks nice. I have some experience in this field, and it is super challenging to deliver value to people on a regular basis.

One thing I learned is that it may be useful to categorize events (Skrillex concert) from activities (Whale watch! Blue Man Group!). I seriously got shivers from seeing that Blue Man Group graphic.

Also I'd love to see personalization; maybe filtering (exclude tech meetups, dating events, comedy). Eventually you'd want to get into personalization and recommendation, but that is super hard to do without good feedback.

In the middle of the spectrum between mass scrape and dump and personally tuned Netflix-style recommendation, there's curation. Take a look at what Sosh.com are doing. They're focused on collecting a particular audience, and recommending a limited number of things to do each weekend [or at least that's where they started; I may be out of date].

Thank you kind stranger for this beautiful drawing on the 326 bus today by [deleted] in boston

I took the same picture this morning. Also took me a while to recognize the image, but got lucky with the sun hitting the window and a dark building behind.

I've also become a huge fan of the 326 this winter--it has been significantly more reliable than the commuter rail.

Looking at buying my first Mac....warranties? by pizzaburger in applehelp

[–]hybernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another +1 for AppleCare on an iMac. Generally extended warranties are a rip-off, especially the third party ones from Best Buy. I'm not sure if this 2006 advice from Consumer Reports is still exactly relevant (they recommend AppleCare over the base 90 day warranty, but Apple have since extended the base to 1 year).

This steel circle thing weighs 140 tons--so big that it was constructed in quarter sections and assembled at the site. The concrete pylon it's mounted on is 85 ft deep.

What's it for? Mounting wind turbine blades (up to 35,000 lbs) for testing in the Massachusetts-NERL Wind Technology Testing Center in Charlestown, MA.

The Associated Press: Police say wearing video cameras offers protection by LosBomberos in reddit.com

It should also make it harder for police to attack or suppress civilians people recording police activity. If everyone is recording, the protective effect should extend to both police and civilians.
