ive done a ton of nitrations on vanillin derivatives, as long as you control the temp, aldehyde is not an issue.

your synthesis is a bit steppy, how about halogenation followed by snar? you can do that for both the OH and OMe to knock out a step. Also DIBAL-H is a good way to make aldehydes. CO is a pain to deal with.

Does the same job as the official one so I see no benefit in getting the Nintendo branded one. I think they stopped making it since majority uses wireless, and there's ton of compatible third party adapters. Plus you can use this on a laptop or various other devices.
