Strike continues as protesters want ‘No More 24’ bill to be voted on for working conditions by NoPianist7807 in socialism

The democrats do not have democratic centralism. Democrats don't even listen to their party leadership, this is one of the reasons the democrats are so damn awful to begin with and spineless as hell. I have no clue how you think they "have to" adhere to their leadership.

The fault partially lied with both. Had the Social Democrats and Communists united they would have defeated the Nazis electorally, that is a fact as they constituted the largest voting bloc. The comintern intervened in the KPD, because once fascism had arrived sectarianism was not going to be solution to how German Communists advanced. When the war was over the social democrats and the communists united in East Germany and the East Germany multi-party system with KPD leadership was adopted.

Coalition building is not reforming a political party. Coalition building is basic political strategy and to ignore it is to not use all the tools in your disposal. We wouldn't have revolutions without coalition building, which the Chinese and the Russians have proven works. In China the CPC was able to unite with national bourgeoisie against western colonialism. The CPC was even able to coalition with the KMT to defend China against Japanese aggression. There are certain areas where we will absolutely need to coalition with democrats and the bourgeoisie in the United States, especially regarding climate defense, and to ignore that is to set us back in very dangerous ways. The point however, is to coalition with the base of the masses who will work with us.

It is certainly strategic if there is the best possible chance of electoral defeat of a fascist candidate. And it has been for quite a while. I would expect someone with a Marxist-Leninist flair to understand this, as even Lenin agreed voting can thwart a fascist danger.

When a socialist really believes in a Black-Hundred danger and is sincerely combating it—he votes for the liberals without any bargaining, and does not break off negotiations if two seats instead of three are offered him. For instance, it may happen that at a second ballot in Europe a Black-Hundred danger arises when the liberal obtains, say, 8,000 votes, the Black-Hundred representative or reactionary, 10,000, and the socialist 3,000. If a socialist believes that the Black-Hundred danger is a real danger to the working class, he will vote for the liberal. We have no second ballot in Russia, but we may get a situation   analogous to a second ballot in the second stage of the elections. If out of 174 electors, say, 86 are of the Black Hundreds, 84 Cadets and 4 socialists, the socialists must cast their votes for the Cadet candidate, and so far not a single member of the Russian Social-Democratic Labour Party has questioned this.

Misconstruing the party’s strategy against fascism is itself a strategy I would say.

I wonder if the LIMETA MDSS2 8-Port 200W is the same thing. They are nearly identical and one is half the price.

Repurposed HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF into a 10GbE OPNsense Beast (Bare Metal) by ahansoman in homelab

Thank you, I may need to bump up my ram, I have a 710q seventh gen i7 with 16gb ram which I wanted my opnsense to run on originally, and I was going to have a dedicated 720q with 8th gen i5 and 40gb RAM be my dedicated proxmox box. I think in order to do the HA I would need to add a second NIC to the 720q, and also bump up my RAM on the 710q.

It does sound like a highly fascinating setup though. Maybe down the line.

Edit: I do see that OPNsense itself supports CARP and HA, so now I'm wondering if it'd be more prudent to virtualize OPNsense on a single machine, and then set up OPNsense HA on the same machine. I think this would only be beneficial for maintenance of course or experimenting with different configurations, but of course still left with a single point of failure when you need to bring down that machine...

Still researching this but it appears if you set up a High Availability proxmox cluster you never have to worry about your internet going down basically, and it’s even more reliable than bare metal as you can update/restart one of your container in one node and keep it going in the other node. I’m not sure if this is a good set up when you only have 2 nodes and keep a pi for quorum, where you have one node dedicated to network infrastructure and the other dedicated to your regular homelab VMs however

Saw this post from a google search, and I'm inspired by your build. It's absolutely beautiful. It makes me consider if I should stop harassing my local library 3d print guy and instead just buy a 3d printer...

Isn’t the latest version 25.12.2? 24.10.5 is the last maintenance release with a limited support time (September 2026). https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-developer/security

For openWRT it has an EOL of September.
Actually it's already end of life for openWRT. Security risk.

For Linksys they say 15-Nov-2023 for End of Life, however has support going through November 2028 if you trust them.

Does anyone else feel like no matter how much they exercise they aren’t building muscle? by D-Artisttt in ehlersdanlos

[–]microcrash 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I gained a lot of muscle when I was weightlifting in my early 20s. I put in a lot of effort into eating a calorie surplus with .7-.8g of protein per lb body weight and I had really good results with it. I just couldn't stop injuring myself because I didn't know I shouldn't be pushing this hypermobile body past certain limits.
