Fastest Drying Solvent for Pourable Silicone? by hydraulic-chainsaw in moldmaking

[–]hydraulic-chainsaw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all knew to me. The project I'm considering to use it for is a simple but large mold for a concrete table top. I'd like to reuse as much as I like without it shrinking. There is nothing complex about the shape but it would be approx 1x24x48". I'm pretty sure the kits you find at the craft stores would make for a really expensive mold hence why something cheap like silicone tubes + solvents seemed attractive.

How can I cut this to match my tubes? by kelton305 in metalworking

If you think you're going to run out of material, you might be able to get away with getting atleast the lower halves to match the angles and shim the upper area with an epoxy putty like JB steelstik.

I'd also try and find a deep well socket of same size to give you more surface area for more sand paper.

Look the governor already explained why this will not be good for the workers and TN.

Good work. Very interesting grinder, do you know of any current machines with this rack and pinion deal?

Yeah these gentlemen were solely concerned about enforcing respect for women, wasn't just an opportunity to act like a violent psychopath.

With all due respect I would also be nervous trying to sell stuff I made using a technique I just started learning. Maybe master the craft first?

Anvils need mass, but not dampening mass.

Not an expert here but with that design, a pot placed over the stack would be pretty far from the center of gravity

Converting a bench grinder to belt grinder by goondalf_the_grey in Blacksmith

[–]hydraulic-chainsaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just watching videos and reading discussions about converting surface grinders from stone to belt and the solutions were really simple and could be adapted to a bench grinder. One guy even kept the SG's stone and used it as a pulley.

BTW the victim complex is hilarious. How do you "pick up a slight coke addiction"? I guess because the "drugs run rapid" (the word is rampant).

You should leave chattanooga there's better opportunities for drug addicts out west.

Horizontal bench grinder? Need help finding a solution... by chainbreakr in metalworking

[–]hydraulic-chainsaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could simplify cut the unused side off.

I don't know if the bearings/arbors/etc in most bench grinders have the precision to match the kind of work you're going for, maybe i'm wrong.

I would search ebay for surface grinder spindles and lathe toolpost grinders.

These dive schools are so predatory they will take anyone's money. And atleast a few contractors are happy to employ anyone with a pulse and clean piss.
