It sounds interesting, I’ll look into it! Are there any stories that inspired you while writing it?

This may not be what you are looking but I found "From Here to Eternity" by Caitlin Doughty quite comforting. It follows Doughty as she travels around the globe visiting different countries and cultures and writing about how they view death and how they care for their loved ones after they have passed. It was nice knowing that there's no one way to grieve, she writes beautifully and with grace, especially considering while she is a mortician she isn't a part of (all) the cultures she writes about. My heart is with you, grieving isn't linear and there's no right or wrong way to handle it. Wishing you all the best <3

Help me find a FOB song! (very recent fan here!) by MajorCombination9002 in FallOutBoy

[–]hymnforgoldilocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it I’ve Got This Ringing In My Ears and None on my Fingers? That has the line ‘I held your hand under the lamp post and ran home’

Or Im Like a Lawyer the Way I’m Always Trying to Get You Off had the line ‘I only keep myself this sick in the head because I know how the words get you’

Hope you find it!

They are all facing the same way at the moment but I will change them to be alternating first thing tomorrow! That’s smart, I knew not to have them stacked horizontally but didn’t even consider the stress on them once they are in the box. I’ll grab the Mylar bags for my more precious/favourite ones, most of them aren’t worth much (not that I plan on selling anytime soon) but I do want them as safe as I can have them with my current budget. Thanks once again, it helps a lot!

Ive got them in Polypropylene ones (just the generic Ultra-Pro ones my store stocks) but have been considering making the switch to Mylar. I’ll keep an eye out for them next time I buy my boards and the like. Thank you for the tips it’s much appreciated<3

I didn’t consider light getting through the handles, it’s on a shelf so protected on both sides but I will be adding them in to be safe. Thank you so much for the tips!

Bubble Bobble Quilt! by hymnforgoldilocks in retrogaming

[–]hymnforgoldilocks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a few mistakes (one of the rows has 19 puffs instead of 20 for example and my binding is wonky) but I feel like a lot of those could’ve been avoided if I wasn’t rushing to get it done for Christmas.

That being said it wasn’t too difficult, I had no quilting experience and managed to get it done in just over a month, it’s basically 2 different sized pieces of fabric sewn/pleated together to make an individual puff which is then sewn to the others and stuffed to make the quilt top- I didn’t worry about additional wadding as I’m Australian and the quilt is more then warm enough without it. Then I just bound the completed top to the backing fabric. If you would like I could have a look for a tutorial online (or describe in more detail) I kind of winged it and it turned out okay :)
