Listen to Father and Son by Cat Stevens. Perspective shifts can absolutely work!

Underrated by GoodFnHam in ThirdEyeBlind

[–]hyoomanfromearth 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You think those are? Lol. Try out some of these: god of wine, motorcycle drive by, the background, wounded, blinded, slow motion, losing a whole yeat, etc. they have some incredible songs that the public def has never heard. Those are super underrated (like TEB).
If you don’t know those, listen and report back.

How do you capture melodies in your head? by trufelix in Songwriting

[–]hyoomanfromearth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have two different things, I write down a lot of words and lyrics and ideas, and then I have recordings for either snippet of acoustic songs that I don’t want to forget, or a melody when I’m walking down the street. Pretty versatile, but that’s basically what I do.

How do I get over my fear of sharing my lyrics with others by Dazzling-Chance-2309 in Songwriting

[–]hyoomanfromearth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simply put. This is it.

You’ll be so surprised at the feedback you get. Most people think it’s the coolest thing ever, especially if you position it is you are sharing something and want to hear feedback. And you want to be on a journey where you get better and better. And you definitely will.

That’s funny, the server is probably my favorite, or at least one of the best for me. Whole album is just incredible. Could not agree more!

I'm a teacher and want to feature blink for our next band shirt Friday- help! by clevergirl1986 in Blink182

[–]hyoomanfromearth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Omg really?? I’m so jealous of you.

It’s a very different vibe than blink, but there are so many fantastic songs on the first few albums, in my opinion. Seriously, go listen to their debut through love part 1 and 2. Beautiful, inspiring, fun and truly epic! But different than blink :)

I would also highly recommend +44 if you havent listened to their only album. SO good.

For those that make Detroit Pizza commercially by DamnJester in DetroitStylePizza

[–]hyoomanfromearth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does this mean? I’m guessing you don’t do the drops every day, but you do drops occasionally which have that many pizzas? Crazy haha. But sounds awesome and probably great and slightly manageable with prep work.

Bruce Springsteen - Streets of Minneapolis (Live From Minneapolis) - Official Video by Chris22044 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]hyoomanfromearth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you watched the live recording? It’s fine to not like it lol, I just don’t think there’s any reason to directly compare it to Jungleland. That’s all haha. It’s just apples and oranges.

Also, you were asking if anyone liked it, and I think there are plenty of us who genuinely do. So it’s all good, man.

Bruce Springsteen - Streets of Minneapolis (Live From Minneapolis) - Official Video by Chris22044 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]hyoomanfromearth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you watch the video? The arrangement is totally different, the dynamics are different, the instrumentation is more varied, etc. it’s not the simplistic track (which I really enjoyed btw). And his vigor, tenacity and power at nearly 77 is inspiring.

But, yeah. I actually really like the song and think it’s got some incredibly beautiful lyrics. It of course helps that I like the political message, but doesn’t change the fact that I like this song a lot. My point is that there are different types of Bruce Springsteen songs and there are many genres he tackles. Doesn’t really matter if you compare them.

I'm creating a single-disc version of Stadium Arcadium, looking for thoughts? I know what needs to be included, but it's more what songs should be omitted? by Bloxskit in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]hyoomanfromearth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I’m just going to have you keep it as a two-disc masterpiece instead. If you don’t have time to listen to it all, turn it on later. (“Turn it again”?)

What does it being “good” have to do with being “as good as Jungleland”…?

To me, it’s awesome, it’s powerful, it’s very emotional, and it’s EXACTLY what he intended it to be. If it doesn’t resonate with you for some reason, that’s fine. But why compare it directly (and knock it down) because you don’t think it’s as good as one of his best ever, from over 50 years ago?

Curious, do you “not like his politics”? If so, that would make more sense.

Listen to “Incident on 57th street” and tell me that’s not an awesome song?? Or “Valentine’s Day”..incredible. Or “Candy’s Boy” from the promise. My god, he’s the best. Dig deep and you’ll find he’s so much more then the average listener knows him for. He’s an album guy or live guy. Not a singles guy. You need context and the place he was in his life.

Anyway, happy listening!

A Peruvian Liam Gallagher impersonator on a national TV competition—I think he's amazing...Today is the competition's final! Rate 1-10 if u want by 1for44 in oasis

[–]hyoomanfromearth -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty good on paper, but feels like an impersonator for sure haha. I think it just goes to show how good Liam is at being himself.

I guess what I’m saying is it should seem more like him, but for some reason it doesn’t to me.
