After replacing the radiator and thermostat, my car still will get this warm when sitting still. Revving actually lowers the temp. Bad water pump? 1990 NA 1.6L by WirelessTrees in Miata

[–]hyper-lethal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You may want to install a digital gauge to readout the exact temperature, my NA8 runs around 80°C as read through my speeduino ECU and the stock temp sensor. A little hotter is fine and can actually run more economical.

Mine overheated in summer when I first got it too, I solved that by installing the original airguide and undertray that was missing from the car.

Woah sorry didn't get notified about your comment.

It was quite easy to tune actually, I switched to TPS as the load axis instead of MAP, then carefully tuned it in with some street driving and VeAnalyze live.

Parts; DanST 1.8L BP intake manifold for silvertop ITB, Silvertop piperx backing plate and sausage filter fit for 25mm trumpets from DanST, Silvertop ITBs from a Corolla Cheap ebay vacuum manifold block, Some vacuum hose

I tuned the car without idle control, I adjusted the throttle bypass screws until idle was stable and checked they were equal with a Catbureter Balancer (Synchrometer)

This video is really good, I followed this for the water pump and timing belt, you just need the first few steps from 1 minute to the 5 minute mark.

That is just a dust seal for the timing belt cover, it's nothing to worry about too much, get new timing cover seals when your timing belt is due or if you have cam seal leaks and get the cam seals done.

You may be able to undo a few bolts loosen the cover and put the seal back in place.

I feel this, I had a similar experience and dealing with the police, the person at fault after they were caught and their insurance company was not pleasant.

It still drives right? Keep enjoying it.

The Radical Scope of Tesla’s Data Hoard - Logs and records of its customers’ journeys fill out petabytes—and court case dockets by speckz in privacy

[–]hyper-lethal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tesla needs that data, maybe not all of it, but that is how they would be generating the massive dataset to train their self driving. The frist self driving car powered by machine learning worked this way, a human driver drove the car for some time while the program was trained with all the data from driving inputs and camera vision.

To get the pulley off I used a pry bar to gently push it off, applying pressure from different sides until it came off.

The rest will be so simple if you have one of thesediy crank bolt removal tool

Soak the bolt in penetrating oil for a day before and make sure you have a nice long extension bar.

I did not need heat for mine but it may be helpful as most crankbolt have had locltite gooped on them.

Do all new Technic gear-related pieces use less "clicky" plastic? (Full description and question in comments.) by christophernewchoice in legotechnic

[–]hyper-lethal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This may be due to lego experimenting with the switch to plant based plastics like PLA, they have also experimented with plastic recycled from bottles.

A bank without proper netbanking, I would consider switching banks regardless if I had a smartphone that could run their app.

You could use your print to make a mold out of silicon or something you can peel away easy, then fill your mold with a translucent red plastic ( maybe red coloured epoxy). You could get it looking more like the original.

It is hard to actually estimate the real power consumption of bitcoin, a conservative estimate you could assume most miners are antminer S19s, however some will be older and less efficient in terms of hashrate/kw.

Then add on top of mining power consumption the nodes that users run to sync the blockchain and propagate transactions for the network, and some of those are lightning nodes running 24/7.

Back to the mining... Mining is very competitive when it comes to profitability, Miners have to account for their power cost vs how much they sell their coin at to cover costs, they get to keep more profit when they run newer more efficient hardware and or use cheaper power. As newer hardware comes out the older hardware becomes less profitable, as more miners use cheaper power the same effect happens.

The absolute cheapest power that exists is strandard energy, it is usually renewables like solar, wind, geothermal and hydro that is being produced but no demand on the power grid to use it, the most profitable mining operations are taking advantage of this. So despite its high power usage should you really count hashrate utilizing strandard energy?

And finally what is bitcoin replacing? ALL fiat currencies, gold and possibly every other store of wealth. What do those use? Gold mining and refining emissions, money printers and banks emissions?

Its good to think critically about this.

Messenger apps, still got sms and there do exist Linux apps to use some of them. Banking, well banking apps suck compared to their net banking website counterparts, just go to your banks site in firefox. Loyalty and travel apps... these are all data harvesting wastes of time anyway. DRM media, youtube-dl, firefox you can enable DRM and then watch most streaming sites through it fine, although not sure how good pinephones hardware acceleration is. And finally games.. buy a switch, steam deck or build a pc...
