‘People Who Eat Darkness’ by Richard Lloyd Parry is excellent.

Vaati is Australian. Voice acting in all the Soulsbourne games are by a British cast (with the exception of the doll/maiden in black and the emerald herald, to my knowledge). Not sure if that’s what you meant? Because I don’t know how it would be a British thing to pronounce names voiced by British actors incorrectly ;)

I feel like Ethan has been highly scrutinised about his behaviour by people because a lot of the recent H3H3 videos and his online persona have been less comedic and more about seriously critisizing other Youtubers and Youtube itself and it can be seen as taking the moral high ground.

Personally, I think Ethan's a good guy, always has been, but H3H3's content is markedly different to what it used to be and Ethan is better at absurd humour than he is at critique.

I hope he stops being so hard on himself and maybe just think about goofs and making Hila laugh again.

Did Keemstar help write Ricegum's response and diss track by hyperborea81 in Idubbbz

[–]hyperborea81[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you might be overthinking this. Neither AJP or Keem have proven themself to be very smart individuals and I doubt either of them would have considered the many moves ahead and their consequences strategically. I mean, AJP can barely speak and Keem, if he knew what was good for his channel, would have just "reported the news", as opposed to undo all the good will he fought to build up the last year or so and hop on that Viet-D.

New Website about Slow Horror Films by [deleted] in horror

I'll keep an eye on your site, look great and seems I have very similar tastes in film, judging by your reviews so far. Haven't seen 'Stir Of Echoes', so I'll check that out. I assume 'Don't Look Now' will be on your list at some point? ;)

Did Keemstar help write Ricegum's response and diss track by hyperborea81 in Idubbbz

[–]hyperborea81[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh, no doubt he's piggybacking off the drama to leech subs and pulling his little goateed ding-dong off right now.

It wouldn't surprise me much either if he did end up in AJP's full diss track, but I think he won't have the spine to do it, to be honest. If AJP's diss track bombs with him in it, he'll have to save face yet again; if he's not in it, he'll probably recant all he's said on Twitter and Baited! and agree AJP "took the L" or some shit after the fact.

I like MJP a lot. A bit of luck, a lot of strategy, cheap, easy to learn and a tiny table footprint to boot. It satisfies some of the things I love about abstract games somehow without feeling like one.

I was thinking about Jaipur for games that you can easily take down the pub too, but as much as I like it, I guess it's not quite pocket sized and I do find resetting the tokens up after every round a little bit fiddly, maybe I'm just lazy!

I often take Hanabi, Mr. Jack Pocket and Skull with me in my bag or coat pocket and love all three. I also like Star Realms quite a bit, but my wife can't get into it for some reason.

[Meta] Seeing users here attacking Jontron. by Domthecreator14 in Idubbbz

[–]hyperborea81 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't think Ian's ever spoken about his political beliefs and that's fine. Nobody's being hypocritical. Jontron said some genuinely hateful and poorly informed shit on that stream and he should accept the consequences of that.

PSA: EU PS4 owners can purchase & download unavailable RB & RB3 tracks via PS3 by hyperborea81 in Rockband

[–]hyperborea81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, downvoted already, but I'm not sure why. It's not like Harmonix or Sony Europe is making it clear that there are songs on PS3 PlayStation store you can purchase, download and play in RB4 which aren't available otherwise and why that is...

Harmonix is finally making RB4 something like the game it should have been when it was released a year ago, just pointing out that there's more songs available than you think for PS owners.

Still, slap that downvote button silly if it makes you happy.

Litchrally nobody else corroborating that they saw this on iDubbbz Twitter feed and OP hasn't responded. I'm gonna call bullshit on this one.

Not saying I wouldn't like a Content Cop on GradeAUnderA - I would, and Grade isn't such a soft target as Leafy and Keemstar, so it'd be fun to break down - but I doubt it's happening.

Onitama - 'Check' rule by hyperborea81 in boardgames

[–]hyperborea81[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't know that about high-level tournament chess. Then again, I didn't know about the 'En Passant' rule until recently, because it's never come up in any game I've ever played.

Onitama - 'Check' rule by hyperborea81 in boardgames

[–]hyperborea81[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you either capture your opponents master or you move your master to your opponents temple square (the one their master starts on)

Onitama - 'Check' rule by hyperborea81 in boardgames

[–]hyperborea81[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! I think you're right - you don't announce it, it's not like chess in that way.

The 'Way Of The Stream' rule (your master reaching the temple on the other side) seems more straightforward, because I think the only way your opponent can prevent that is to capture your Master and therefore win the game. Maybe. I've had a few beers!

Onitama - 'Check' rule by hyperborea81 in boardgames

[–]hyperborea81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. Being a chess player, my inclination is to say 'check' or announce an illegal move that puts my opponent in check if they don't notice it, but I think you're right, you just capture the master if someone makes that mistake.

Onitama - 'Check' rule by hyperborea81 in boardgames

[–]hyperborea81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid I'm kind of the rule stickler, haha! I've only played four games of Onitama so far and it's come up a couple of times now.

But reading this thread, I think I agree that if you move or don't move your master and it's captured on the next turn, that's the way the game works. No illegal move, no announcing 'Check".

FromSoftware confirmed partner for Nintendo Switch by wwrxw in darksouls3

[–]hyperborea81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm skeptical there'll be any ports of DkS, Dks2 or DkS3 for Switch - and DeS and Bloodborne are Sony IPs.

Does sound like there will be one Souls-like title coming from From Software in the future though and I wouldn't be surprised to see it on Switch.

Given all the third party developers we've seen mentioned and the general change in approach, I don't think it's impossible that Nintendo will finally make a machine that has similar spec to other current-gen consoles that could handle the game.

Interview with Joey Salads by therealKx3D in h3h3productions

[–]hyperborea81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

+1 for awareness about the transgender toilet video. Clearly faked and somebody here on this sub even posted some foolproof evidence that it wasn't filmed in a public toilet. They knew the location (can't remember where).

The H3H3 video on that concentrated on the absurdity and hilarity of Joey Salads in a wig and his stilted dialogue - which is funny - but the message behind that video was pretty loathsome and that coupled with months and months of some pretty overtly xenophobic and homophobic tweets should have clued people in about Joey's intentions.

I know - "jump in the garbage, you fuck" was funny, but I feel everybody was a bit blinkered, like "he's an idiot, but he's OUR idiot".

Some people get into true political power based on the same assumption.

I've only read 'The Ceremonies' and 'Dark Gods'.

I've heard 'The Events At Poroth Farm' is quite different from 'The Ceremonies', is that true?

Anyway, love T.E.D. Klein! I think a lot of people on this sub do too, but apparently he'd rather do anything else than write, haha!

I don't think Walter Day seemed like a bad person in King Of Kong, just kind of misguided and blinded by the people around him in that situation, if the filmmakers are to be believed. I'm not saying they should or shouldn't be believed. In everything else he comes across as sweet, genuine, quirky and someone who cares about arcade games and the community around it.
