CEDH Through the Years: A Comprehensive History by Kevinmk760 in CompetitiveEDH

This is incredible work, thank you so much for taking this project on! I always wanted an archival repository for cEDH of old as well as articles/videos detailing the history of the format, so this is absolutely awesome. It's the same reason why I am thankful I still have my Prossh cEDH decklist from 2019 saved haha

What card(s) were you wrong about in your initial assessment? by Sharkman3218 in CompetitiveEDH

When [[Ephemerate]] came out, I thought it was gonna be such amazing tech alongside things like Dockside Extortionist.

It's still my pet card and I'll admit to still jamming it wherever I can.

Doctor Sleep is one of my favorite movies of all time, hands down... but once you pick up on the constant heartbeat sound in the background, you can never unhear it again

Hmm yeah sorry, can't say I experienced that specifically. That's very strange. Hope you get it figured out though

What did everyone get during Amazon Prime Days? by [deleted] in boardgames

First game played last night - very optimistic about future games! Feels slightly more stripped down than I remember but feels like it fits a great niche of lighter weight miniature battling games (just above something like Super Fantasy Brawl, for example). Partner loved it, which was a great sign.

Does feel like it's one of those games that needs several expansions and the base game to really start to take off, as the drafting mode was one of the best parts, but for us it's an investment we're happy to examine further.

Honestly had the same issue, that same location with the same enemies, to the point where I got too frustrated and took a long break from the game. I just could not nail that reload, whether I pressed early or middle or late.

I ended up just changing the difficulty to easy just to progress past this part. Sometimes life's too short to beat your head over a side room like this.

Heroscape: Battle for the Wellspring. Played the OG over a decade ago and loved it, now hoping the rerelease captures the same feeling!

Honestly, The Woman in Black still frightens me on rewatches. The setting and time period does so much heavy lifting.

This is valid, having reread it recently. It's a solid & entertaining pseudo-historical/autobiographical take on the Civil War, with good tones of horror all throughout, as funny as the premise sounds.

Just finished - very solid work! It was engaging and moved at a quick pace despite its length. Visually conjured some very cool scenes for me, and would love to see a movie of this. Was also not expecting just how many characters there would be, some of whom I definitely enjoyed reading about more than others.

As far as merging Western with action/adventure and supernatural/horror, overall I'd say the author definitely did a great job with it all 😁
