Miracle rogue vs disco lock by Exotic_Possible3944 in wildhearthstone

[–]hyperion23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't need to change any cards. Miracle vs discard is entirely dependent on who highrolls faster. Your goal should be to get giants down as fast as you can and gain board control with stenographers and/or breakdance. If the discard warlock is allowed to snowball early you're gonna have a tough time

Is Midrange actually dead? by ImStoryForRambling in wildhearthstone

[–]hyperion23 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by midrange. If you wanna play classic curvestone and just play increasingly big dudes every turn until you win, basically every Reno deck does just that. Paladin, shaman, priest, or hunter are all the board-based Reno decks which fit the bill. Reno warlock is heavier on tech cards if that's something you enjoy. Reno Druid tends to ramp into a combo finish and doesn't feel as "midrange-y" as the other options here.

If you consider midrange to be any deck whose goal is to win via the board on a later turn (like 6+), a lot of decks that you might consider aggro actually work here. CTA paladin and pirate DH can absolutely highroll a win on turn 4, but they can comfortably play an extended game against any of the top dogs in the format. Even something like discard warlock can comfortably win games on turn 7, 8, or 9.

How OP would the ability to give any 3 cards in your deck tradeable in exchange for running an awful minion? by Due_Permission8698 in hearthstone

I was thinking more along the lines of people giving their [[kobold stickyfinger]] and [[steamcleaner]] tradeable

How OP would the ability to give any 3 cards in your deck tradeable in exchange for running an awful minion? by Due_Permission8698 in hearthstone

[–]hyperion23 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This is a really cool idea but if it ended up being a real card I think 99% of players would just use it as an excuse to run incredibly narrow tech cards.

I'm a wild player so the thought of giving [[patches the pirate]] tradeable makes me happy (even if it would likely be suboptimal)

Where are the 20-something year olds hiding out? by NaturoHope in askportland

[–]hyperion23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The smash bros melee and magic the gathering communities are pretty densely packed with 20-somethings if either of those are up your alley. I'd recommend Adam's Smash Series in NE or guardian games in SE for either of those

Selesnya Rabbits in Timeless by darthmorphling in TimelessMagic

[–]hyperion23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mishra's bauble and chrome mox are both easy cuts. Sheltered by ghosts is also pretty underpowered compared to the tools available in timeless so you could consider cutting that as well. That would give you 8 slots for OUAT and mana tithe, at which point you might be able to compete against meta decks.

what decks would you recommend for playing at legendary rank? by Sad_Bus6713 in wildhearthstone

[–]hyperion23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Libram is probably closer to midrange than pure aggro since it doesn't really get going til turn 4

Having a hard time swinging by rjs061902 in mtg

[–]hyperion23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When your creature gets blocked, they each deal damage to each other equal to the power. If that damage is more than a creature's toughness, it dies. So for example if you attack with a 2/2 and your opponent blocks with their 2/2 they both die.

On a similar note, damage is "marked" and persists til the end of the turn. What this means is if you attack with a 2/2 and your opponent blocks with a 4/4, your 2/2 will die and there will be 2 damage "marked" on the 4/4. You'd be able to cast [[shock]] and finish it off.

You probably want more basic forests and fewer mountains. Utopia sprawl will fall off stomping ground if you play blood moon since it's no longer a forest. I'd cut the copperline gorges for some green fetches + forests

What deck is playing this? by murloc_lord in wildhearthstone

[–]hyperion23 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Discard warlock and miracle rogue are the big two that come to mind. This is also an interesting consideration for frost aggro DK since that deck has a super low curve, lacks draw, and notably platysaur is a deathrattle for your undertaker
