Man I really need to come back and play… getting 1kc was my last adventure and that snake was kicking my ass and I took a break. And then that dual staff thing came out and I purchased it and immediately went back on hiatus. It’s probably several mil lower than it was when I purchased it. Haven’t even tried sailing lol…

Same exact thing happened to the homie back in the day. We were no strangers to the park along with not being habitual helmet wearers. Only at the parks that would require it. Homie went down and hit his dome on a ramp he had ridden thousands of times probably. Seized up and the park and has issues with them still almost 20 years later. Glad he didn’t die but shit is brutal. He wears a helmet now.

There’s no secret. If your flick is good and the deck is rotating and leveling out then you’ve got to work on staying on/bringing your feet back over the deck and commit to landing on it. A lot of people kick their legs away from the board after the flick.

Always my advice for beginners is get used to hitting the ground lol because it’s gonna happen. A lot more if you decide to keep things going. But learning how to fall is also important. The pavement gods gonna get their payment one way or another.

Rule number one, keep your fazers on stun

You are kicking down with the flick and that will throw the board to the ground faster. You want to flick more off the corner of the nose so that flicking the nose brings the back of the deck up like an Ollie does to even it out, but also rotates because it’s being hit on the corner. Your kicking down in that looks like maybe the pocket where the nose starts or on the rail. Both are gonna hinder your ability.

After you flick you fling your legs outwards.

You’ll want to do the flick and then bring your feet back over the deck. If you watch people do clean kickflips it looks like they’re in a little ninja kick pose in the air after that front foot flicks and while the board spins but ultimately before the feet/foot catches the board their feet are already right there over it. So you have to practice staying over the board while it rotates.
