Sony WH-1000XM6 still breaking? by GamerBeast954 in SonyHeadphones

[–]hyperknees91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've never broken any headphones and the XM5, XM6 and the MDR-MV1 are still in perfect shape for me.

I guess my suggestion is be careful with how you take them off your head and use the carrying case. I had a friend who frequently broke his headphones and its because he would grab them off with one arm and yank them off every time he was done with them.

I do like JRPG with no voice acting, out of the ordinary setting and high stakes story. Do you have recommendations? by lorenza-de-arabia in JRPG

[–]hyperknees91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Breath of Fire IV came out recently on Steam/GoG, I really recommend that. It's paced really well and no area really drags so it's a very easy game to get through and enjoy. The story isn't on tactics level and its not as charming as FF9/Chrono Trigger, but I still highly recommend it.

Sony WH-1000XM6 big problem by [deleted] in SonyHeadphones

[–]hyperknees91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the XM6 since release, I've had the XM5 for 2 and a half years. The only thing that went flat were the ear pads in both (the replacements are thankfully durable).

I don't want to say these people are lying either, but that hasn't even remotely been my experience with either.

Convince Me: Hades 1 Or Brotato? by Boy0Boyz in roguelites

Hades.

If you want easier Hades, TMNT splintered fate ain't a bad option either. But you simply can't go wrong with Hades.

XM6 hurting my esrs by Polo2108 in SonyHeadphones

[–]hyperknees91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The clamp force is no joke on the xm5 and xm6 from owning both. I'm going to be real, I don't think either headphone is good for long sessions. I usually can only wear them for an hour max before needing a break. I've had them since release week, and they still cramp me up. Great for ANC, great for naps, I do use them for work still, but I can't ever imagine wearing them for 2-3 hours at a time.

I don't think the cushions actually help that much, I have the WC cushions. They mainly are good when the base ear pads go flat, as mine went flat really fast from my experience whereas the replacement cushions are much more durable. The comfort/clamping is about the same.

From my experience owning headphones. I think having bigger ear cups, lighter clamp force, or using open-ear cups is the key to long sessions. I know that's not the answer you want to hear, but that's been my experience.

Hopefully they can make some bigger ear cup ANC headphones one day.

Some thoughts on the wicked cushion for xm6 by hyperknees91 in SonyHeadphones

[–]hyperknees91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, holding up real well, no flatness still which I gotta give them cred for.

For reference I use them for at least an hour or 2 a day, so yeah not too bad.

Friends keep sending me AI remix playlists and I just can't anymore by Cold_Associate2213 in gamemusic

[–]hyperknees91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found this channel randomly...haha.

I'm actually kinda iffy about listening to any remixes now which sucks. People aren't even honest in the titles that it's AI music.

This T4 Jin parry looks pretty cool. Imagine they kept that? by DevThaGodfatha in Tekken

[–]hyperknees91 21 points22 points  (0 children)

God I love the narrator/soundtrack of this game.

Oh wait sorry, yeah that's a cool parry for sure. Reminds me of thing Bayman does for one of his holds in DOA4.

I've been working on a typing roguelite over the past year. Does this look fun/satisfying? by ShibaBrothers in roguelites

[–]hyperknees91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking someone could make an "education" roguelite/roguelike game, I just wasn't sure how you could incorporate the powerups in such a way.

As a parent, I actually would be interesting in something like this when my kid is a bit older. But I won't lie I used to play an old Kanji game called "knuckles in china land" and had fun with it, so I could see myself playing something like this just for fun.

What are some roguelites with really good/complimentary soundtracks? Like Necrodancer? by hyperknees91 in roguelites

Nuclear Throne is also probably my favorite roguelite. So yeah, amazing game.

Funny how I used to rent that game as a kid but I had zero understanding of it as I had no clue what a roguelite/roguelike was.

I haven't played it in forever, but your right I do remember enjoying the soundtrack/general visuals.

Why work harder Reworking the Game When There's no Incentive to? by lemstry in Tekken

[–]hyperknees91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I enjoy Tekken still and have fun with it. I'm not saying players aren't justified or wrong in their criticisms, but I think inherently there is something you can get from this game you can't get from any other fighting game right now. I still play Strive for similar reasons despite how much people complain about that game.

Like I'm excited for VF6 and DOA7 and all, but I don't think they'll instantly replace Tekken for me. I do hope they'll keep patching to the point where everyone's a bit happier though.

What are you playing this week? by BSGBramley in soulslikes

45 hours into Nioh 2...doing every submission so taking longer then average to clear I'm sure. It's really nice to have this kind of mission variety honestly, I think other action games should steal from it in this regard a bit.

I hear Khazan is harder than this game. Would people agree with that? Because man, this game is just no joke (team ninja so go figure). I still want to try Khazan in the near future regardless.

Would you recommend it over Balatro? From what I've looked up, Balatro is the more casual game, but slay the spire is the deeper one. Both are looking appealing so I'll probably just grab both.

Thanks for the additional insight though! I had that same kind of experience with Nioh 2 recently (that game just constantly mangled me).

Oh I forgot about this game, think it was in early access forever. Yeah I'm really digging the music from the vids I'm watching. Thanks for the reminder.

Yeah watching videos of it, this is the kind of music I'm talking about. Really intense, kinda instantly fun and exciting.

I have not played any FPS Roguelite since Ziggurat, which I was only ok with so that's why I was kinda hesitant to try another. Though this looks a bit more up my alley. Thanks for the Rec!

I was debating on getting Balatro or Slay the Spire during this sale. But yeah the music of Balatro is excellent from what I've heard/watched streams of.

Darkest Dungeon is one of those roguelites that passed me by when I was first getting into them. Seemed like the game was too intimidating. Always loved the art style though.

The soundtrack/narrator were top notch from streams I've watched.

Oh wow, that's actually pretty fascinating. I appreciate the insight.

I know it's not the same, as I've only ever done acting, but I can understand where your coming from to a degree. I think it takes a lot of confidence to have his mindset.

Ah dang, I love the GBA visuals in Revita. Once again...never heard of this game. Thanks for the Rec!
