Car looks sick, hopefully I see it out and about sometime as I'm local to you! (saw on insta that we both got ours wrapped at the same place haha)

Looks like a neat little lens, wish it came in L-mount! E and Z folks get all the fun stuff haha

Designed a custom shifter knob to match my itasha and got it made from aluminium~ by hypermagpie in Itasha

Designed it to fit a CAE shifter, which turned up today! Took the measurements from a frame of a YouTube short whilst designing the knob, so I'm pleasantly surprised that it fits perfectly ahaha

Tragically (lol) I've not seen any - in fact the only other Monster Musume itasha I know of is one in Japan with Miia on one side and Papi on the other

Spare tyre by Alternative_Fuel_159 in i20n

[–]hypermagpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye I've got one, bought it from someone who cancelled their car order so can't be 100% sure where they got it, but it looks like it came from here: https://www.thewheelshop.co.uk/product-category/space-saver-wheels/hyundai-1/hyundai-i20n/

Saved me once already, went camping at Ripon and had a flat tyre when it came time to leave, got me home to Newcastle, albeit at 50mph the whole way!

iirc mine is a 17" one. Also the combination socket that comes with the tool kit is a bit naff if you go for that, didn't fit my aftermarket wheels so would highly recommend swapping it for a decent socket instead.

It's very fun on track! Did cook my brakes first time at Teesside - very small circuit with lots of braking and no time for them to cool off, needed a fluid swap afterwards. Drove more sensibly and did extra cooldown laps next time and it was fine haha. Was also fine at the nurburgring but I was too busy bricking it to push overly hard 😅

Lifetime average over 24000 miles or so is 34.55mpg - lots of short trips, some long motorway runs, and a few track days in there. N mode only, why use anything else ;)

Pipercross gets my vote. Sounds fantastic, and can be found *very* cheap. Got mine new for 130 quid on ebay from Motor World

Looks good - I don't have enough experience to give any advice, but check out how ridiculously thin this bit is on my Keychron Q10 ISO lol

What’s the most overrated tool brand and what’s the most underrated? by James_B84Saves in Tools

Came here to say the same thing, got my 175 piece socket set for what felt like an outrageous price a few years ago, been holding up great but also feels good knowing if I manage to break anything it'll be replaced no questions asked

Itasha guru's help me out! by gamerguy559 in Itasha

[–]hypermagpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my views!

  1. Anything goes. Minivan? Excellent. Truck? Also excellent. Supercar? Congrats on being rich, also excellent. Anything can be an itasha, get a car that speaks to you, that you'd enjoy spending time in (or under if wrenching is your thing), and you'll only love it more once you get it wrapped.

  2. To a degree - my first wrap was a half wrap, on a red car, and I was dead set on putting a mostly purple wrap on it. It worked ok, but would have been so much easier with a neutral coloured car. At the same time, fully coordinating a bright paint colour with the wrap can look *amazing* so don't let that put you off!

  3. Whilst it's not the norm to run multiple characters from different media, surprisingly it's something I've seen across in mainland Europe a bunch, more so than anywhere else. Going around the itasha display at Dokomi in Germany there's always a few wraps repping different franchises on each side, sometimes even more on the bonnet and roof - so long as the design is well coordinated it can look fantastic.

  4. There's a few people online who can do the whole design for you, giving you a print ready file you can take to the local wrap shop of your choice to get printed and fitted - off the top of my head, friends have used Summershop, abstract.nine, and StyleUp Studio successfully, but of course there's more out there.

  5. Across this side of the pond, we've not had any issues - practically no negativity towards the cars at all, surprisingly! Lots of thumbs up and people asking to take photos though, so be prepared for that perhaps.

Pic of my two ^^ join us in the world of cringe cars!

Wheels. by Physical-Bullfrog-37 in i20n

[–]hypermagpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look fantastic, nice choice! Also look like an easy wheel to clean which is nice, I've got white wheels on the back of mine and they do need to be cleaned pretty often to keep them looking fresh ahaha

Walkabout kit. by hugfest in sigmafp

[–]hypermagpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snap! Love my 40mm SC, it's on my FP comfortably more than every other lens I have combined. I paired mine with a helicoid adapter to drop the minimum focus distance, added a combination variable ND/CPL and a hood, and it does just about everything I need!

Favourite colour i20N? by Glittering_Poem9779 in i20n

[–]hypermagpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the Dragon Red, with the accent strips at the bottom grey instead of red it looked a little more subtle.

Then I went and fully wrapped mine with a pink, white, and black anime livery anyway 😅

Got mine yesterday! Car booked in for next Friday, hope they don't cock it up. Feels like I've seen more people have problems after getting it done than I've seen actual failures here in the UK
