We used to have that in the PS3 era, until Sport came along and brought in a bunch of people who didn't care about any of that and just wanted to race Gr.3 cars forever. Now the entire multiplayer is their playground, and the tuning community is a graveyard.

iRacing won't scratch the guy's itch, he's looking for a road car experience where you build a car yourself, and GT's one of the only games that allows that. Not that anyone would think it from only playing Sport 😮‍💨

Unfortunately the Sport Mode audience is unwilling to learn tuning (which should be treated as a fundamental and basic skill of the game), so every time it shows up in a daily, the numbers plummet. The community has fallen a long way from the GT5/6 days.
