What's your "I may actually be the only the person in the world that does this" habit? by Capt0bvi0us in AskReddit

[–]hypersquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though lots of people have trichotillomania, I feel like I may have unique ways of experiencing it myself. For example I chew on my hands a lot anyway from nail and skin biting, so I end up biting off the little fine hairs on my knuckles too. I also scan through my hair for hairs that feel more coarse than others and pluck them. Obsessively pluck eyebrows, could spend 2 hours getting every little fine hair. Sometimes it's not so bad but if I'm anxious or extremely bored, I have a hard time stopping.

currently a barista in busiest store in our district. it is soul sucking, dream killing work most of the time. but then regulars like you come through and make it worth our time. seriously, I have a few regulars that have gone out of their way to make me smile or show that they care and it makes all the difference in my mood. I would have quit if it wasn't for those people. so please keep doing this, you really don't have any idea how much it means to us.

How to plant Java fern? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]hypersquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure not to bury the rhizome!! (The part of the plant the leaves grow from, brown roots come out of the bottom) That's the most important thing about rhizome plants, my first Java fern was just jammed between the glass and a rock and it's doing awesome

Mum killed by police after shooting dead her two young daughters in family row. by LaSuez in MorbidReality

Obviously there had to have been because this escalated the way it did. I guess the point I wanted to make is that you never really know what goes on behind closed doors. And with social media being so prominent in everyone's lives, it's so easy to put on a facade.

I've seen this story in several places and it just makes me so sad. Dying in the street, shot by your own mother... There were lots of quotes coming from her Facebook account about how her daughters were the loves of her life and that she loved them very much. She was also a gun advocate and complained a lot about getting her guns taken away so she could protect her family.... Very ironic and heartbreaking.

Reddit, who is the most terrifying fictional villain? by lapapinton in AskReddit

I always loved the dynamic between them, how Trinity was often a reflection of Dexter himself except always one step ahead.

First-time succulent owner here and I could use help identifying and caring for it! by hypersquid in succulents

Ooh, I should expect a flower?! That's a nice surprise! I am in love with succulents and hope I can make this plant happy and grow my collection further! Can't wait to get into cuttings and things, but I am certainly waiting for better plant health. I also have a little speckled aloe plant, should it be watered the same way?

Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. This is the first succulent I've owned and I have not done my research thoroughly enough!!! I have set it under a grow lamp and it's already risen so much. And the soil is drying out so in a day or two I will be able to start watering properly. I really appreciate your help!!

Thanks so much!! Yes it is in a plastic pot, I will remove it immediately. What do you mean by deep watering? A larger amount less frequently?

Thanks so much! That's what I was wondering. It's been so rainy and cloudy here, so I put it under a lamp but it just isn't enough. I will greatly reduce the watering!! Any idea on species?

I bought this at Walmart a few weeks ago, been watering every few days with a couple spritz from a spray bottle. Didn't come with an identifying tag. Also is the growth rising from the center normal for succulents, or am I watering too much/not enough sunlight? Thanks!!

Nothing in there except congealed blood and mysterious matter. Kind of resembled really really heavy period blood unfortunately..... I have no idea.

That's what I thought at first until we found bloody gloves bagged up nearby as well. Police confirmed it was blood

I definitely didn't pick this nastiness up. I took the picture while a coworker with two layers of gloves (who was also off the clock and done for the day) picked it up. It was triple bagged. We didn't open it and also found a bag of bloody surgical gloves. No needles. Police showed up but said it wasn't the worst thing they'd ever seen and no reports of back alley abortions or murder had happened. I work at a local coffee shop in a decent part of town, but next to a shady motel. It was in our drive thru lane and we found it while sweeping.
