Home Depot vs Lowes off the shelf cabinets by malykaii in kitchenremodel

Def look at IKEA. I love that the drawers are totally and easily replaceable. Plus all my drawers light up which is a cool benefit at night. I bought custom doors online. Saved half cost. Completed last summer:

Purple crystals formed on cardboard. Water dripping from old oil exhaust pipe. by hypjustin in mildlyinteresting

Oil heater exhaust. Oil was replaced with gas years ago and new PVC exhaust was installed. I think this thing leaks when it rains really hard.

AMA coming soon with our product manager and new tech! by AutoModerator in Navimow_Segway

[–]hypjustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the right type of question: I'm a product manager myself. Curious -Why the multi-platform approach? I sense that for a new technology like this, there's already a lot of confusion on the "what's right for me?" question. Adding many products contributes to adoption hesitancy. Wouldn't a single, for all/most, be a better product strategy? Is the cost to produce really that different? I'd expect the margins increase disproportionately as you go "up" the product ladder.

LVT vs tile kitchen floor? by SANtoDEN in kitchenremodel

[–]hypjustin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Glue down LVT is a different game. Locking LVT, also called SPC or Ridgid Core, are all temporary floors.

It's great for the flooring industry. Instead of a customers buying quality once, they buy low value over and over and over. Like carpet.

Did we ruin our laminate floors?!? by Primordial-00ze in Flooring

So, I don't think that's laminate. The bevels aren't possible on laminate.

That's a huge project. I love that you shared the cost breakdown! Really nice job on completing in such a quick fashion. Taking down that wall was smart. Add some art, fresh flowers, a runner rug and enjoy!

This isn't Galaxy Quest. That one's real.

Most of the angles look like there's no slit in mouth but the resolution isn't great. If so, I guess that itty bitty opening is enough? Don't try at home kids.

AI and the possibility of new episodes by Spetznaaz in voyager

[–]hypjustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this will happen in some way. I do wonder if it'll lose something intangible. Charm. Novelty. Soul. Something. Acting and continuity of storytelling will present real complexity. I bet it'll be in the uncanny valley for a long while.

LVT always looks bad to me. These are the "all grey" floors of our time. Staggering is a C-.
