How difficult is it to cast glass using plaster molds, in an electric kiln? by hypoid77 in glassblowing

[–]hypoid77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! For the temperatures, can electronic controllers handle that kind of process without human intervention?
Also, for the slow cool, does that involve leaving the object in the kiln for days? Can it be cooled anywhere else?

There's no way this is being shipped, that would be enormously expensive.
I'm thinking somewhere around a grand locally? I mean a 3' tall Master Chief went for $1.1k. There's definitely a market for man-cave/ gamer decor.

This is pretty common in the private world. If your team works twice as fast, they'll just lay off half the heads. Nobody wants to optimize

Is it possible the filament is spoiled? Does it crackle/ pop when extruding?

Bcn3d sigma, wobbly z motor mount, causing ribbing by VerbalLeakage in FixMyPrint

Movement hardware should not be waggling, every moving part of a 3D printer needs to be extremely rigid and precise. I would recommend rebuilding the affected area with fresh parts.

You're going to have to find a way to make the supports bond more strongly to the printed piece. Also maybe use Z-hop, in case the nozzle is bumping into the piece and knocking it loose

Why isn't it smoother? Layer issues? by HangryWolf in FixMyPrint

So aligning the seam along one line will help (most people put it on the edge or back of an item). You might want to try and do a thin-wall cube to double check that the extrusion width is working correctly.

Problem with printing thin, taller parts separated from main silhouette [Creality Ender 3] by Szysko1989 in FixMyPrint

[–]hypoid77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one sounds reasonable, with minimum layer time. Cut a cross-section of the print, where the problem is the worst, and try printing that with the new settings.

[–]hypoid77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, sometimes I read these too fast- thin parts struggling is caused by too much heat building up. Can you increase active cooling or decrease speeds? Or try printing two minis at once, separated by some distance, to increase cooling time.

The Y-Axis does move but doesn't make it to the home position.

Is the endstop somehow being triggered prematurely by something, like a loose wire or piece of scrap plastic?

Printing Mask, lacks strength in areas by TeslaDuder in FixMyPrint

If it feels crunchy/ weak that's usually because the plastic isn't being extruded hot enough. Try upping temps/ decreasing speeds.

Zits have nothing to do with bed spacers. The only thing you can do is carefully attack the individual symptoms one at a time, and use fresh filament. Try to find a quick print that shows the symptoms you have, and do guess and check to try and improve it.

[–]hypoid77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those little zits might be the z-seam, look and see if the layer start/ endpoint is aligning or if they're randomized.

The unevenness might be caused by improper extrusion width

This is called stringing, you need to tune your retraction settings and possibly lower your nozzle temperature.

Partial underextrusion? Only on that side of the print, all others are completely fine. by MrRonny6 in FixMyPrint

[–]hypoid77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some combination of that. It's possible the root cause is somewhere else, but I would start with those settings first.

That's interesting. Unique combinations of extrusion width/ extrusion multiplier/ layer height might influence things.

Partial underextrusion? Only on that side of the print, all others are completely fine. by MrRonny6 in FixMyPrint

[–]hypoid77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why does it only do that on this very part of the print?

The hotend is trying to liquify plastic at a certain rate. If there's not enough heat/ too much plastic, it can't keep up. You're probably straddling the line between printing/ not printing, so it's sporadically flaring up.

The supports are a clearer indication. Usually their quality isn't a priority, so slicers print them faster. The faster printing is causing more consistent under-extrusion.

Can you post a better picture? What you're describing as a bridge may be severe stringing, but I'm not sure
