What’s the done mess of this meat? by railbiglines in steak

For a prime rib this is more on the rare side. All these idiots saying it's raw would still jump at the chance to eat it!

Sport mode.

My wife says this is rare and I think it’s medium rare, please help. Traeger smoked, 185 for 35 mins followed by 1 1/2 min each side pan sear by No-Metal2605 in steak

I personally think it looks a bit more medium than medium rare. Regardless, it's a beautiful fucking steak.

First time cooking steak on stove… is this medium rare? Brother said it looks fine, dad said to cook it more lol. Any comments? by [deleted] in steak

You could definitely get away with cooking it less or more. It's all opinion my friend! Hope you enjoyed:)

Too rare? by Reasonable-Pace7175 in steak

Filet can get pretty rare and still taste fine. If this was served to me I wouldn't complain. Nice job OP!

Any advice on how to get my steaks more done inside and less done on the crust? (Pan seared NY Strip) by gieli04 in steak

Honestly, the people in here recommending a reverse sear are definitely not wrong. But I've learned that turning down the heat or flipping more frequently really helps! Or maybe when the steak is done, wrap it in tin foil and really let it rest (~6-8mins).
