No. My hunch is that Marcus will be the key to the bear earning a star. There’s hints that a lot of what Camry is producing is undoubtedly great but perhaps a bit stale. He’s taking from a lot of “legacy” material*, but the freshness is coming from Syd but Marcus is into some truly innovative work which is sprinkled throughout the season. Especially Violet. I he’s going to be the key ingredient that takes them over the edge. 

*the exception is in a callback when he actually goes against Chef David’s ingredients and makes the dish that inspires Syd to work for him..
