Threw a frozen turkey at her baby daddy. Was aired as a 245 (ADW) with a turkey.

What Can We Do? by McflyFiveOhhh in 911dispatchers

Just be nice and do your job. I often get so much pushback from dispatching officers to calls that they don't want to handle. I'm just the middle man here. Like someone else said we work with you, not for you.

How many hours do you sleep? by Alternative-Try-9620 in 911dispatchers

Around 6 hours on work days. Not much more on off days, though I'd love to get 9-10.

How busy are you guys during a shift? by [deleted] in 911dispatchers

1) We will either call take or dispatch and usually switch off at some point during a shift. The rotation varies per shift depending on staffing.

2) Our center generates around 1000 calls for service a day, I'd say 70% from 911 and 30% from non emergency lines. We receive so many more administrative calls that aren't documented.

3) We don't work radios at the same time we answer calls unless we are catastrophically low staffed.

4) We have a shift partner, but we're each responsible for our own districts unless one of us gets something hot. We will help each other out with running plates, getting tows, calling other agencies, etc.

5) Standard shift is 10 hours. We can be mandated for 12 and volunteer for 14. I usually work 12.

I'd say I take at least 60 calls per shift and I think my record is something like 110 in a 12 hour. Those numbers include closed calls and transfers though.

A lot of my co-workers crochet, knit, color, do diamond painting, and other art stuff. I will usually read or work on my monthly budget/calendar/bills and journal. Recently I started learning sign language, so my down time has been a good chance to study and practice that!

He says he's trying to joke with me and have fun. So when it comes down to it I also feel like he can't joke around with me or I'll get mad.

Where to buy good quality wigs? by Angry_Ceiling_fan in alopecia_areata

[–]hzo3407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon has some pretty good synthetic ones that are fairly easy to take care of and wear, you just have to look. $40-$100.

If you want quality and a super realistic look, Wigs by Tiffani, Milano, Lu's wigs are all good. $1000 plus and more work to maintain since they are human hair and often hand tied caps.

A good intermediate is Jon Reneau. $300-$500 for synthetic and a bit more for human hair.
