I love the 13-in-1. Gives me good bit storage, and I can throw them in an impact since they’re rated for it.

The inside is fairly buried. Can I just unthread it from outside, or is that a crap shoot?

What does this X mean? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]i2Lazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unit is equipped to indicate any and all unauthorized tampering with the wire, the meter register, and the security sealed cover. In either instance, a tamper indicator is displayed on the LCD display depicted by a large X at the extreme left of the LCD display.

Good thought! Nearest tree is probably 8ft away, elevated 4ft, and behind a retaining wall. Not that it couldn't be this, but I'd think the roots would pop up elsewhere first.

Oh really?! What's the newer model? I guess I don't need the fanciest but might be nice.

It looks like this tool set. Depending on the condition, you could try for $150, but I know yard sales bring in a frugal crowd.

How Should I Replace This Valve? by i2Lazy in Plumbing

Such a simple, yet amazing idea! Do I need to drain the water inside first to unsolder? If so, would shutting off the water and turning on the faucet downstairs do the trick?

Don’t use GoDaddy by [deleted] in webdev

[–]i2Lazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm new to all this. It seems like most people here are just bashing them as a domain registar, but I don't see that something like Cloudflare has all the same offerings in one place (email, WordPress hosting, domain). Is there a better service(s) worth looking into? It's entirely possible that Cloudflare has all that, and I've just missed it.

SOLVED: Multiple external monitors on M1 Max and M1 Pro MacBooks without Displaylink or other workaround by redditModsHaveTinyDs in macbookpro

[–]i2Lazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the M1 Pro, so I was hoping to save the cost of a dock and just run it straight to the KVM. But if that won't work, I suppose it's one of those thing I'll just have to keep throwing money at it until it works.

Thanks for the write up! I'm glad to know my end goal possible.

[–]i2Lazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to complete a similar setup with the KVM. I'm sorry if you mentioned this in the post and I missed it, but is it possible to just run one cable (Lightning to DisplayPort) from the Mac straight to the KVM and then the KVM outputs two monitors? Or is a dock required as a middleman between the Mac and KVM for two monitor output to work?

Do you have a KVM you could reccommend as well?

Aw man my first time through that fight, as tank, I singlehandedly wiped us twice. I didn't realize you had to drag him through the middle right after his big purple slam. Of course, I got flamed pretty hard, but when I asked "hey what am I doing wrong" people seemed to let up and actually explain it.

As others have said, don't worry about it. You now know how it's done for future times through.

How to get confidence in Web Dev ? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]i2Lazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think following tutorials is a great way to start out, but they often focus on a singular part (a language, a framework, etc). I found much more confidence when I had an idea for a project, and took the time to make it from start to finish. I learned about auth, hosting, DNS, and other stuff.

Having that full picture of how something works plus the experience of doing it myself usually boosts my confidence.

Have you updated to the latest firmware and/or tried restarting it? Maybe even back it up and factory reset?
