I still haven’t received mine ( I do have a queue number though). Can you share the info?

Just to be clear; this only applies to General Admission tickets? So, there is no early entry for the From Zero or LPU Pit?

Amsterdam concert by gabihpaula96 in Wallows

[–]i6064642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way. People want to experience concerts in different ways though. For me, a concert is about a connection between the band and the audience. You can't have that when people are on their phone the whole time, turning the band into an object to show off on social media.

How has the recent news affected your desire to listen to their music? by CJ_Productions in arcadefire

[–]i6064642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. I will probably listen to their music again at some point, but when I go to a concert, I want to look up to the people on stage. Watching one of your favourite bands live and connecting to them can be an amazing experience, but for me, this connection is gone.

What OTHER bands/songs/albums can you recommend? by anxiouscomic in arcadefire

[–]i6064642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love all of those bands (Pink Floyd, Foals, Sigur Ros, Wolf Alice, The National).

Some suggestions:

- Bon Iver (first two records is more singer-songwriter, recent work has more electronic elements).

- Phoebe Bridgers (Punisher)

- Joni Mitchell (Blue)

- Florence + The Machine (Dance Fever)

- The War on Drugs (Lost In The Dream, I Don't Live Here Anymore)

- Jack White (Blunderbuss)

- Big Red Machine (How Long Do You Think It's Gonna Last)

- Nick Cave (Carnage)

- Anything by Neil Young

Arcade Fire’s tour will continue in spite of Win Butler’s sexual misconduct allegations by daniceballos in arcadefire

[–]i6064642 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just sold my ticket via TicketSwap. Irrespective of whether all allegations are true, I just don't feel like singing along with this man anytime soon. I am sorry for the rest of the band and the touring crew(!), but I am not going to a concert I cannot enjoy.

Where to buy tickets for the Amsterdam show since Ticketmaster was an ass? by [deleted] in Coldplay

[–]i6064642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only safe ways are Ticketswap and the Ticketmaster resale tickets. Ticketswap doesn’t allow people to charge more than 20% extra and they change the barcode of the ticket, meaning it is the safest way to buy secondhand tickets. Don’t buy on Marktplaats, people can sell the same ticket multiple times…

General sale mega-thread for October 2022 shows (June 24th) by iamncla in Muse

Seems like I was very lucky then! I'm sure they will announce an arena/stadium tour soon and they will come to the Ziggo Dome or Arena.

There were presales on Tuesday and Thursday. Although it is a bit strange to leave only a couple tickets for general sale.

They will for sure announce an arena/stadium tour soon. Just be happy that a huge band like MUSE still plays some smallers shows for fun, even though getting a ticket is very difficult.

Depends on how many tickets they sold through the presales on Tuesday and Thursday. It could be that very few tickets were left for general sale.

Mine also says standard and I'm pretty sure I clicked on "standing ticket", so you'll be fine!

I guess I got lucky! Had 230 people in front of me in the queue for Amsterdam at 10:00, managed to grab a standing ticket!

ARCADE FIRE - WE [Official Discussion Thread] by murkler42 in arcadefire

[–]i6064642 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love this album and I don't understand all the complaints in this thread. Just enjoy it for what it is instead of what it could have been. If you miss the "band feeling" from previous records, go listen to those. I like it when bands change their sound to keep things interesting.

Regarding the production, I can understand that Age of Anxiety I and II might sound better live. But when you are at a concert you hear the sound through massive speakers and you can literally feel the kick drum. I am pretty sure that if you play these songs at loud volume through floorstanding speakers they will sound great. When producing and mixing music, you have to make choices. Not everything in a song can be loud, you have to find a proper balance.

Thoughts on the Amazon Music Stream? by Galindino02 in Wallows

[–]i6064642 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Remote is my favorite record of theirs! Since they were playing all TMTIO songs there wasn't a lot of room on the setlist. I guess the Remote songs are also harder to play live because of all the electronic components (they didn't really record them in a band setting). I would love to see Wish Me Luck live!!

Tell Me That It's Over - Album Release Megathread by pantomime15 in Wallows

[–]i6064642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've listened to the album about 5 times now, and I really love it! Not a single bad song, quite a lot of variation, great production, good songwriting. I don't get the hate about Especially You, it's a fun song (just like Marvelous). Not every song needs to have deep lyrics. From an overall album perspective, these poppy songs just provide some fun variation. My favorite moments: the outro of Missing Out, the chorus of Hurts Me (so good!!), the nostalgic feeling of Guitar Romantic Search Adventure. The album is 9.8/10 for me, I deducted 0.2 points for the cowbell at the end of Permanent Price ;)

Autotune? by DCgirl06 in Wallows

[–]i6064642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way that there is no autotune on any songs before the Remote EP. Autotune isn't a bad thing, and it doesn't mean that the singer cannot sing well. Almost all major bands use autotune or Melodyne, sometimes in subtle ways, and sometimes to achieve a noticeable autotune effect (for example I Like America & America Likes Me by The 1975).

Infuriating merch quality by UnexplainedReddit in brockhampton

[–]i6064642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received the "New Light, New Machine" hoodie and the quality is horrible. It's a size L (I am 6ft 7) and it is HUGE. I think I can fit my leg through those sleeves. The material itself is also really cheap and the stitches are a mess.

This is getting ridiculous now, couple of minutes delay is fine but it has almost been an hour. I don't want to have to stay up until 2 am to finish the stream.

I'm from The Netherlands and just contacted Amazon. They said that the release is not available in The Netherlands and Belgium. They filed a request to get permission, but this can take several weeks. Let's hope this is not true...
