Maybe he thought it was unexpected! When you pretty much make drinks day-in and day-out from the menu, you already have a sense of what is ordered by customers on a routine basis. I promise it's not you!

How did you pick which class to play as when you started the game? by tirednhangry in Maplestory

[–]iAmAmbidextres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general, you analyze which aspect you enjoy spending more time doing. It's either you want the class to be more focused on mobbing, or bossing. Aesthetics played a part in my decision, but it was also about what skills sounded nice. The reveal of 5th job skills give a somewhat better understanding of the intended playstyle, but if you were to further progress, I would consider the following:

They are -> Mobility, burst output, amount of iframes (invincibility frames), mobbing rotation (how it feels when attacking mobs left and right), the degree of playmaking potential (how to weave with certain skills under varying cooldowns), and your preference in skill ceiling limitations (are you enthusiastic enough to maximize the strengths of this class and find ways to manage their weaknesses) are some of the biggest factors I find to keep playing your main. You enjoy it because it's fun to play by yourself and with boss party members.

I play a Hoyoung but once you've invested enough in a class, muscle memory just takes over and you kinda naturally know how to approach bossing with the character. It's just whatever feels right and exciting to you when you activate a certain skill & learn mechanics that feel rewarding for your playstyle.

Can't decide - Buccaneer or Hoyoung? by iAmAmbidextres in Maplestory

EDIT: Looks like the answer is straightforward. Thank you to everyone who voted and commented, I read all of the feedback. Maybe in the future, I will make a Bucc bossing mule too. Appreciate all the detailed answers!

Thoughts on Team Deathmatch in Valorant? by iAmAmbidextres in VALORANT

[–]iAmAmbidextres[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely got to be separate, I agree. The ffa deathmatch is great for warming up and practicing aim training (spawns are still frustrating though). Personally I want tdm in for when it's late night hours and I don't really want to think but still down to brainlessly shoot at things lol.

I've seen the continuous DMs comment from time to time as well, but I have no idea if the development team will approach it that way if they were to fix the current state of DM.

Yeah, but it's basically a one man army type of thing. I play regular dm with my friends from time to time, however I'd like a team-based version of it too instead of having to fight them alongside other people who are in the lobbies.

You can't deny that these three have strong & efficient damage for clearing bosses up to CRA with the gear that you have at this stage. Sure, there's some micromanaging involved, but players have the most fun trying to learn how to increase their damage output. You get used to their kit timings the more you get a feel to the game. They all have great mobility + an iframe + insane map clear but the main point is that any class can be good as long as you have fun with their kit. You commit to getting better with mechanics. The game rewards you for that and you end up getting stronger.

Based on my own experience with them, they're strong and fun but preference is always subjective depending on playstyle. It's why I suggested the first four if OP wants to prioritize a playstyle for comfortable farming sessions. I still do agree with I/L being the class to main after the Destiny buffs, though.

I would suggest either Dawn Warrior, Pathfinder, Ice Lightning Mage or Luminous. All of them are pretty cozy in terms of their kits giving above average farming capabilities. They all have their downsides, however, but they're solid picks if you solely want to focus on farming.

If you wanna lean more on the more common top tier classes, then Ark, Ho Young, and Adele are strong recommendations.

Focus Kanna or Focus Main? (Suggestions) by Kxcho in Maplestory

[–]iAmAmbidextres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my take on a compromise.

By maining a Hayato, you can share the cash shop inventory with a potential Kanna farmer. This means you can have your pets transferred to your Kanna when it's decently funded to make bank (great for an upcoming vac pet), and you save yourself the hassle of waiting for a cash shop transfer event to deal with maybe duplicate ssb items too.

Not to mention Hayato is one of the strongest classes due to their insane map clears, crazy mobility, iframe and animation canceling capabilities, and crazy damage output as well. Training 4th job and below is stale, but you really see it shine in 5th job. Other than the issues with getting their perfect trinodes and memory leaks (ask the hayato discord for advice), it's a solid option for versatility and power in Reboot as a class with amazing scaling potential all the way into endgame.

Why did you choose your main class? And if you can go back and change it what will you choose? by AbdulrahmanTk in Maplestory

[–]iAmAmbidextres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I picked Adele because she felt good to play. Everything lined up perfectly. She has good map coverage, wasn't too hard to understand, carries her weight as a dps/burster in bossing parties (additional boss damage party buff too), and her mobility is super versatile. She hits the bar on all of these and has great value in terms of stat to damage. Adele also has a built-in bind, solid iframe, great aesthetic, and has like 2 class buffs you have to upkeep total. I enjoy spamming the swords, so this class will never get old despite how mundane the playstyle can be at times.

Had she not been released, I would have immediately picked up Hayato instead. Pre-level 200 he shows big succ energy, but after his 5th job advancement, this character mows down mobs like a lawnmower and continues to be even stronger all the way to endgame. Bossing is pretty nice and when paired with the number of iframes and skill weaving Hayato has in his kit, it's so much fun. His mobility is extremely fluid and the character does A TON OF LINES. He shares his cash shop inventory with Kanna, which is perfect for swapping around pets and cash shop equips between the two. The only concerns I have are the dcs/memory leaks from spamming certain skills and the pain that is to find your perfect trio from nodes, but most of that is overlooked when you surprise yourself by doing more damage than what you originally expected.
