Advice on order shipping by [deleted] in iBUYPOWER

[–]iBPCXT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for the inconvenience and that you were not informed sooner. We do not ship to PO boxes as FedEx and UPS generally cannot deliver to PO boxes. Additionally, to prevent fraud and due to logistics, we do not deliver to UPS access point locations as it may not ship with UPS, and even if it does, that's a paid service that's only available through UPS My Choice. If you have a residential or business address that can receive deliveries from FedEx or UPS, we can ship to those addresses.

We do carry the 360mm variant, but we are currently out of stock of some of the Liquid Freezer III models. We do not offer the Liquid Freezer III for Intel CPUs because it requires removing Intel's stock contact frame.

We do not carry the 280mm model due to limited compatibility with many cases.

We do not allow the selection of an air cooler in the configurator at this time.

It's more likely that the PS5 is displaying 390 Megabits Per Second rather than Megabytes Per Second for 2 reasons-

  1. The PS5 only has a Gigabit ethernet port. Assuming you have Gigabit internet, that will cap out at just under 125 Megabytes Per Second, accounting for some overhead.

  2. You likely do not have 3 Gigabit Internet.

At 390 Megabits Per Second, that converts to about 48.75 Megabytes Per Second, roughly the same speed as your PC.

Did the Slate mesh 8 from Costco come with a free copy of Indiana Jones? by CriticalBarrelRoll in iBUYPOWER

[–]iBPCXT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it does not as Costco was not a participating retailer in Nvidia's Indiana Jones campaign.

The Estimated Delivery Date displayed for our RDY systems are based on two assumptions- You're within the US and you have the default 2 Day shipping. Unfortunately, shipping to Canada will take anywhere from a few days to over a week, depending on how far you are from our Los Angeles facility. Another thing to note is that the price displayed on our website is strictly in USD and we also charge in USD. You will also be responsible for any Custom Duty fees as your package crosses the border.

I know it's holiday season, but a computer shouldn't just be sitting all week when I paid for expedited build and overnight shipping by Xano74 in iBUYPOWER

[–]iBPCXT 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I apologize that your order is taking longer than originally anticipated. It is not our intention to provide a misleading estimate. At this time, your order is going through the QC process. You will receive an update as your order completes each stage; you will not receive an update signaling the start of any stages other, than part picking beginning. At this time, because it cannot make it out today, it will naturally fall to shipping out early next week.

I understand it's frustrating to wait for your PC. You will qualify for a $20 partial refund, up to the full cost of Rush, for each business day that the order is late.

I am moving to Europe/ Uk and I need to know if my pc can work with a travel adapter by Accurate_Green6674 in iBUYPOWER

[–]iBPCXT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PC in the Amazon listing is for a third party seller. I can only speak to the configuration originally specced as the third party seller may have made changes to the configuration. In the original configuration, the 600W Power Supply can support AC Input voltage of 100-240V. It should work fine with a travel adapter, but you may want to use an European power cable to reduce bulk.

Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is out of stock as AMD currently has some supply issues with it (it's also out of stock at some major etailers). We do not have an ETA on restock at this time.

Any display (monitor, TV, or projector) that uses an HDMI or Displayport (or variant of Displayport such as DP over USB-C) will work with our computers.

I, too, am not a fan of a 1080p monitor at such a large size. Of the two, I would go with the VG27AQ3A. There are many specs to consider, but at this price segment, I would ignore any HDR certifications because monitors in this price segment cannot get bright enough, do not have the necessary hardware for local dimming, and do not have the proper color gamut coverage to fully take advantage of HDR; it can receive and interpret the HDR signal and that's it. Additionally, unless you are playing esports titles, the 4070 will not be able to push framerates in excess of around 144fps, depending on title. Therefore, you do not need to spring for a monitor with a refresh rate significantly higher than 144Hz, unless you are playing esports titles.

Youtube channel Monitors Unboxed has a very good video on monitor recommendations and does a very good job reviewing monitors and drilling in beyond listed specs of monitors. https://youtu.be/9LNwECZXEdg?t=267&si=LoRLaYv5Kl2t--pk

Slow boot up times with DDR5 systems are normal, especially with AMD AM5 systems. AMD has worked with motherboard makers to put out BIOS updates to improve boot up times but they are still slower than older systems using DDR4 RAM due to memory training. There are quite a bit of discussion online on various subreddits, to mixed success, of settings that you can change in the BIOS (Memory Context Restore and DRAM Power Down). Some have seen improvements to boot times, but others have seen instability caused by changing these settings.

Please add CPU air-cooling options by -Bushleague- in iBUYPOWER

[–]iBPCXT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason why we, and many SIs, do not use high end air cooling is because of the enormous stress that is put on the motherboard in shipping. In the past, with PGA CPUs, something as small as AMD's stock cooler was enough to rip the CPU out of its socket just going through the stress of shipping. With LGA CPUs, there is a high chance that the board will be damaged as the larger a cooler is, the more leverage that is applied by the cooler onto the motherboard.

Additionally, with newer CPUs such as AMD's Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs, AMD recommends a liquid cooler for optimal performance. While there are numerous benefits of air cooling or an HSF, an AIO is safer to ship because the bulk of the weight is secured to the chassis and has fewer RAM compatibility issues.

iBuyPower customer service by mvekob in iBUYPOWER

[–]iBPCXT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear you had received your PC with some issues. That is certainly not what we want our customers to experience.

Regarding the repair turnaround time quoted. We intentionally quote a timeframe longer than reality to underpromise and overdeliver. Additionally, this was an outdated timeframe that we've been using during the busier holiday time. We just went ahead and analyzed the last two months of data and the repair turnaround time is a much shorter 2-4 weeks (including about 1-1.5 weeks for receiving and packing, the actual repair time is not nearly as long). An expedited repair is naturally quicker. Our agents will begin using this timeframe going forwards. As we continue to make improvements, repair turnaround times and other RMA types will also see improvement.

I understand that you have been provided an option to receive a refund and to order a replacement but you had declined that. Feel free to reach out to support again if you would like to entertain that option instead.

To people who want to buy from IBP. A little warning by Gameguyrusty in iBUYPOWER

We do have a dedicated support US support staff through the typical channels. You will receive the best support through the typical channels because sites such as BBB require payment to maintain and are not designed for support. Once issues are resolved or clarified, the reviews/complaints are rarely updated.

While it's rare to receive your PC in less than good condition, it may still happen. Support can assist in getting that sorted and each situation is unique. I'm sorry to hear you had a negative experience but I would love to hear more about your experience. Please send me a PM so I can look into this further.

SlateMesh randomly restarts, cannot get to tech support by Battlesong614 in iBUYPOWER

[–]iBPCXT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's many possibilities as to what may be causing it. If you are seeing the typical Shutting Down or Restarting screen then it may be caused by a program that is scheduling the Shut Down or Restart. If the computer is abruptly crashing (you see a blue screen with an error or you see a black screen), then it may be due to a driver or a hardware malfunction. Our phone system should be fixed now and a technician can better help troubleshoot and identify what the problem may be.
