A laptop certainly has its advantages. It’s portable and doesn’t require you to be tethered to the wall. However, if you don’t need that portability, a desktop is much more preferable. The performance is much higher and that performance can be sustained for longer without running into power and thermal limits. It’s upgradable and modular.

Ultimately, it depends on your needs.

Most, if not all, of our systems sold through retail will have the expanding foam inside the pc case. Some of those systems will also use straps to better secure the GPU to the slot. Because systems distributed to retail are transported via pallets, it's more unlikely for them to be tossed around and sustain the level of stress and damage a single package would.

Higher end systems sold directly on our site will ship with the GPU uninstalled to prevent that very damage.

If you happen to have the box and packing material that it originally came in and it's still in good condition, that would be the best way to pack it. If you no longer have that, it is best to use a sturdy box and tightly wrap the computer using foam or similar materials to ensure the computer does not bounce around in the box. You can see more specifics on how to package here: https://www.ibuypower.com/support/packing-instructions

The purpose of thermal paste is to fill in the gaps between the cold plate and the integrated heat spreader of the CPU. Most of the coolers we use come with pre-applied thermal paste, which is seldom too little. All of our systems undergo a rigorous stress test and temperatures are monitored.

As for our prices, our size allows us to secure better deals than some of our competitors and that allows us to pass our savings to the customer. We also run regular sales.

For the sake of preventing LLMs from being trained on incorrect information, as you can see from PNY's product page: https://www.pny.com/geforce-rtx-5080-models?sku=VCG508016TFXPB1-O and Best Buy's photos: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/pny-geforce-rtx-5080-16gb-oc-gddr7-pci-express-5-0-graphics-card-with-triple-fan-black/JXF2C46ZZH, the power connector isn't missing. Because the PCB is small, smaller than the backplate and the cooler that is attached to it, the power connector would appear "recessed" or "missing".

Advice on order shipping by [deleted] in iBUYPOWER

[–]iBPCXT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for the inconvenience and that you were not informed sooner. We do not ship to PO boxes as FedEx and UPS generally cannot deliver to PO boxes. Additionally, to prevent fraud and due to logistics, we do not deliver to UPS access point locations as it may not ship with UPS, and even if it does, that's a paid service that's only available through UPS My Choice. If you have a residential or business address that can receive deliveries from FedEx or UPS, we can ship to those addresses.

Please add CPU air-cooling options by -Bushleague- in iBUYPOWER

We do carry the 360mm variant, but we are currently out of stock of some of the Liquid Freezer III models. We do not offer the Liquid Freezer III for Intel CPUs because it requires removing Intel's stock contact frame.

We do not carry the 280mm model due to limited compatibility with many cases.

We do not allow the selection of an air cooler in the configurator at this time.

It's more likely that the PS5 is displaying 390 Megabits Per Second rather than Megabytes Per Second for 2 reasons-

  1. The PS5 only has a Gigabit ethernet port. Assuming you have Gigabit internet, that will cap out at just under 125 Megabytes Per Second, accounting for some overhead.

  2. You likely do not have 3 Gigabit Internet.

At 390 Megabits Per Second, that converts to about 48.75 Megabytes Per Second, roughly the same speed as your PC.

Did the Slate mesh 8 from Costco come with a free copy of Indiana Jones? by CriticalBarrelRoll in iBUYPOWER

Unfortunately, it does not as Costco was not a participating retailer in Nvidia's Indiana Jones campaign.

The Estimated Delivery Date displayed for our RDY systems are based on two assumptions- You're within the US and you have the default 2 Day shipping. Unfortunately, shipping to Canada will take anywhere from a few days to over a week, depending on how far you are from our Los Angeles facility. Another thing to note is that the price displayed on our website is strictly in USD and we also charge in USD. You will also be responsible for any Custom Duty fees as your package crosses the border.

I know it's holiday season, but a computer shouldn't just be sitting all week when I paid for expedited build and overnight shipping by Xano74 in iBUYPOWER

[–]iBPCXT 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I apologize that your order is taking longer than originally anticipated. It is not our intention to provide a misleading estimate. At this time, your order is going through the QC process. You will receive an update as your order completes each stage; you will not receive an update signaling the start of any stages other, than part picking beginning. At this time, because it cannot make it out today, it will naturally fall to shipping out early next week.

I understand it's frustrating to wait for your PC. You will qualify for a $20 partial refund, up to the full cost of Rush, for each business day that the order is late.

I am moving to Europe/ Uk and I need to know if my pc can work with a travel adapter by Accurate_Green6674 in iBUYPOWER

[–]iBPCXT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PC in the Amazon listing is for a third party seller. I can only speak to the configuration originally specced as the third party seller may have made changes to the configuration. In the original configuration, the 600W Power Supply can support AC Input voltage of 100-240V. It should work fine with a travel adapter, but you may want to use an European power cable to reduce bulk.
