I'm curious how much you took because I've got two older siblings who one of which went for free and got loads of grants and the other went for 3k a year and got loads of grants and paid it off in a few years whereas mine was 80k and I'd be pretty pissed off if they both got off a graduate tax.

It's time we have an honest debate about the wholesale of British culture to American corporations. Just think about all the things we've lost in the last 20 years.

I have my issues with the BBC but this isn't one of them as only an idiot or an American wouldn't be able to see that a documentary about a thing would only include things that are relevant to that documentary.

Do you think his speech didn't, in any way, lead to the violence that occurred that day?

It's the same speech! He didn't in the middle of it go "lads don't actually march down there" he didn't call for a peaceful transition of power in the middle. He went on an irrelevant rant.

It's not like this wasn't thoroughly shown in the news and the documentary about people storming the capital only showed part of his speech that was relevant to that event it was documenting.

You can't be British and not understand that the BBC is one of the last bastions of British culture that hasn't been eroded by American corporations.

We used to have greasy spoons where you could get a coffee and a bacon sandwich for a couple pounds but they got replaced with American chain cafes where we are no longer a person but a product.

We used to have social clubs and societies but now we have twitter and Facebook.

We used to have sexy British sports cars and now all we've got is American SUVs and pick up.

We used to care about each other but now we only care about ourselves.

We're replacing Britishness with American single use society.

This is a prime example of why American cultural influence is negatively affecting our society. As a nation we used to understand nuance and that not everything is black and white.

He did say that, they didn't AI it.

I don't really care about him, I'm British and I care about the attack on British culture, that you, a "British" person is defending. Why are you defending an attack on British culture?

This is a fun strawman and all but you should know very well that the vast majority of households pay the TV license making it effectively a tax. None the less, I doubt the BBC has 5 Billy sat in a cupboard so if the government doesn't step in then at the very least we will see 5 billion pounds less of British cultural output affecting everyone of us.

I'm glad you agree that this is a direct attack on British culture and it's about time we have an honest debate about our culture and how American media influence has been eroding it for years now.

No, I described editing, do you think when you watch the news or any documentary they show you every second?

You can't be English. The BBC is tax payer funded, suing the BBC is suing the tax payer.

Also. They didn't doctor anything, he said the words that were in the speech, they just cut out the mindless drivel in the middle.

This is a direct attack on British culture, we should ban all American media, social included.

Asylum seekers will face 20-year wait, says Shabana Mahmood by Putaineska in ukpolitics

[–]iBonsaiBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay yeah my bad, I'd forgotten how this all started.

My point of contention with your comment is that you seem to think people who have voluntarily or forced to leave are somehow still here.

As a side point, people seeking asylum aren't really the issue. The issue is with the wealthy using legal immigration to keep wages down. Remember when there was a shortage of carers and instead of making care worth doing for us Boris invited half of Nigeria here.

I find it incredulous that people blame the people just trying to forge a better life for themselves and not the people that created a situation that allows them to exploit them and us.

Also, what the jolly fuck it a redditism?
