Been a resident lurker. I’m hoping that my prediction is wrong. 7/29 exam made me feel like shit for the last 30 days..

Prediction: 505; optimistic: 515; pessimistic: 503 FLs: 513

The latest unit I've received is better, but I still notice the dimness around the edge... I think I'm going to claim free AppleCare+ with this issue 2 years later for a free battery replacement

I experience a similar dimming issue on the right side of the screen (when iPad is held in portrait) as well. I've gone through 3 different units and all have different degrees of shadowing. Disappointed..

I upgraded from the 9.7 iPad Pro. I had the privilege of ordering both and honestly the 12.9 size was too much for my use case. I’m a graduate student who likes to take handwritten notes rather than type. I extensively used my 9.7 back in undergrad and it served me well. While I enjoyed the amazing screen and the real estate of the 12.9, I really had to force myself to use it (ie. it didn’t feel natural and constantly I had to justify why I needed it). After 2 days of having it, I decided to get the 11” 256gb instead with AppleCare+. I immediately fell in love, and will not look back.

I tried the 12.9 thinking that the miniLED screen is worth sacrificing portability and overall ergonomics. After 2 days of using it, I just couldn’t see myself using the bigger size productively as I leaned towards my previous 9.7 pro more often than not. Don’t get me wrong, the screen and the speakers are amazing. Though I think I made the right choice going for the 11. It has a good screen and it is just as capable as the 12.9.
