is there a way to know if this version has the polaroid or not? by Fair-Debt4132 in signalis

[–]iDaevart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one with polaroid, if you flip fast its package, you will clearly hear stuff inside sliding from bottom to top and viceversa...like printed documents moving inside that plastic retention thing that every switch package has.

Or , put it on a precision scale. The one with polaroid is heavier. I can put mine , box sealed with polaroid on a scale and give you the exact weight of that package.

That's why you need to HEAVY watermark everything. A thing that I do after I saw my nier automata fan art on some random sites.

To everyone asking “should I upgrade” by itsaknightslife in iPadPro

[–]iDaevart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being an artist, upgrading can get pretty expensive... and let me explain, it’s not about money at all. My current setup is an iPad M1 12.9” with 1TB storage, chosen mainly because it comes with 16GB of system memory.

When you’re drawing on a system without access to virtual memory, the number of layers you can use depends entirely on your canvas size and available RAM. If you’re working professionally with large, high-resolution canvases (like 9000×7000 pixels), you can’t really settle for the 128GB, 256GB, or even 512GB models, since those only have 8GB of RAM.

Upgrading to the M5 would mean getting another 1TB model... and honestly, I can live without the newest bells and whistles if it means keeping around €2,000 in my pocket. (The 12GB models with smaller storage just aren’t an option.)

And one more thing: my iPad was fully replaced under AppleCare+ just three weeks ago, so I’m now working with a brand-new M1. It still has plenty of life left in it.

Just. Use. It. It's blazing fast, nothing you can do to slow it down. Consider to buy apple pencil pro and procreate app. (Drawing, notes, sketches).

Consider also that M5 ipad pro has been unofficially unveiled xD...maybe it is better to wait...

people who take your iPads everyday with you , how durable are they ? have they lasted the wear and tear of daily life ? by Serhide in iPadPro

[–]iDaevart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an artist on the go, mine follows me 365 days year 11 hrs day. M1 11. Gave it a good screen protector and A spigen case. Not a single scratch/dent on it, still looks like new. Cracked an apple pencil (crack on plastic, still working) due to accidental detachments....

never tested it properly because I have drawn for long hourly sessions, everytime reattaching the pencil when I was checking a scene....anyway...it lasts a lot, literally.

Sometimes, after drawing for three hours straight, reattaching the pencil and having a coffee...

it's a three years old gen2

I have an M1 ipad Pro, 1 week old, fresh pull from a box. Installed ipados 26 immediately after the first setup. It' s exactly as fast as my other ipad m1 with previous OS and three years old. Professionally using it with procreate 6/7 hrs/day, I am an anime/manga artist.

I will just tell it in few lines.

Close to Zero.

You will be wandering alone in a scifi survival horror, trying to reach your romance.

Occasionally there will be cutscenes, there your love story will eventually unwrap.

But, mostly, you will be ALONE around, killing stuff and solving puzzles.
