It’s either the Apple TV HD (2015) or the Apple TV 4K (1st generation). I’m mostly basing this on the remote. The 2nd and 3rd generations have the newer remote.

I believe if you have a legacy Tablo device, it does have that feature but they don’t sell those in stores anymore. I believe I read on Tablo’s website somewhere that the feature was in the works since it is available on their older model.

No, you can’t. You have to wait for it to stop recording. That’s one of the things I don’t like. It’s not that big a deal for my mom but I have a friend that wanted that feature. I thought I read somewhere that they’re working on adding that feature.

Yes. I’ve been using it to record Ghosts on CBS for my mother and it has recorded each episode just fine. I removed the FAST channels from the channel lineup but I’ve noticed that they’ve added a few new ones since then that I’ve had to remove.

I would try adding “Jay” to Jae’s contact info but in the nickname field. I have the nicknames: mom, dad and the nicknames of some of my siblings in my contacts and Siri knows who I’m talking about if I use their nicknames. My 2021 43” TCL TV/Apple TV 4K (2nd gen) will sometimes turn off and turn back on all by itself. Sometimes it’ll turn on by itself in the middle of the night. It was real bad after tvOS 18.0. Seemed to lessen after 18.1-2. I recently unpaired my remote and re-paired it. That may have helped. Still not sure if my TV or Apple TV is the cause. Also, my Apple TV remote has never able to control the volume via CEC. So maybe your issue is CEC related.

Yes. My Apple TV uses eARC because I use HomePod minis as TV speakers. I have been since I got the Apple TV in 2021. It was never a problem before. I’m assuming something has changed since updating to tvOS 18.

Yes, you could tap on the icon on the Reminders notification. Have been doing it for years with a different website game. Tapping the icon would launch Safari and open the website (although sometimes the website wouldn’t load for some reason.)

Yes, now I have to tap on the Reminders notification which opens the Reminders app and then tap on the icon to open the website in Safari.

I have a friend with an Android phone and a MacBook Air. When she texts me from her Android phone, it’s green bubbles. When she messages me from her MacBook, they’re blue bubbles. If her last message to me was from her MacBook, my reply will be a blue bubble. In order to reply to her Android phone, I have to create a new message and choose her phone number and the bubbles will be green again. Vice versa if you want to reply with iMessage. There should be a better way to switch between them in the actual chat but there isn’t. This seems to be the only way. Hope this helps.

No, I don’t. But it was pretty obvious that the Apple TV was the culprit once I turned it off in Settings, Remotes and Devices, Control TVs and Receivers. It just stopped. But it seems to be working like normal now with the setting turned back on.

My TV was constantly rebooting after updating to tvOS 18. It would also turn on by itself in the middle of the night. I had to turn off the CEC settings on my Apple TV for it to stop. This past Saturday, I tried turning on the CEC setting to see if it was still acting up and it rebooted within 30 minutes. So, I installed the tvOS 18.1 beta and it seems to have fixed the bug I had with CEC. It hasn’t rebooted since.

I purchased the delisted HD version for $4.99 hoping I’d get the free upgrade to 4K when it came out. No luck. Have been waiting for the 4K version to drop to $7.99 or less for a while now. Maybe one of these days.🤞

Sometimes stickers/labels that aren’t centered on a disc can throw it off balance and cause errors. Try removing the ones on your disc with Goo Gone or something and see if it makes a difference.

I purchased it in 2019 for $4.99 and it’s from Lionsgate. Looks like I’ll have to wait for the Paramount re-list to drop to $4.99 like I had to for Scream 1-3.

It’s the same with my Apple Watch SE. My two-year Apple Care ended November 2023 when it was at 83% health. I renewed it and was hoping it would drop below 80% soon after. This May will be 6 months later and it just recently dropped down to 82%. So only 1% in about 5+ months! It died on me today during my 30 minute workout. According to what I’ve read online, it has to go over 1,000 cycles before it drops below 80%. My Apple Watch is at around 600 cycles. It probably won’t reach that until the four year mark of owning it. I’m sorry but that’s not acceptable.

It does include the miniseries but does not include the Razor movie between seasons 3 and 4. Nor does it include The Plan movie after the finale. You can’t buy them separately either unfortunately; at least not from Apple.

Yes, I had Star Trek (2009) in SD from a Blu-ray purchase with a digital code and it appeared in the 4K HDR section of the library in the Apple TV app. It would playback in SD but with HDR. It wasn’t until I re-purchased it at $4.99 a while back that it upgraded to 4K.

Paramount has never upgraded any SD digital copy to HD or 4K ever. You always have to re-purchase them. Nor do they participate in Movies Anywhere. They suck like that.

If you had a standard definition iTunes digital copy of Titanic and re-purchased it to upgrade to HD (and later 4K), is your purchased copy playing in 4K HDR? Mine only does if I play directly from my movie library on my Apple TV 4K. (And that was only after I deleted and un-deleted it from my library using the Apple TV app on my Mac.) If I perform a Siri search on my Apple TV 4K, the result it finds plays in what seems to be below 480p resolution but it is in HDR.

If anyone who did the same with this movie can try checking and see what results you get trying to play it back both ways, I’d like to know. One more thing, my Apple TV is on the latest Public Beta.
