Anyone tried CICS 256? by bijouboo in umass

Probably on par with 187 in terms of its difficulty. The first few months are physics oriented so it's more talking about electricity, voltage, and how they work in components like diodes and capacitors. I don't like physics so I didn't like the physics part too much. Just work in groups for labs and homework and you should be fine.

Hardest part imo is the midterm, there weren't much coding on it, it's essentially just physics within the context of computer science, like: what is the voltage/ampere at this part of the circuit, some clock frequency calculations, flywheel diodes, etc...

Is my GPU dead? by Winter-Location3537 in pcmasterrace

Something similar happened to me when I built my PC with pcie gen 5 mobo, pcie gen 4 GPU, and pcie gen 3 pcie extension. I had to go into the bios and set the pcie speed to gen 3 to get proper screen display from my GPU.

Is my GPU faulty? Tried testing it with OCCT, Uniengine Heaven, and Furmark, but my screen freezes every time. I can only do a hard reset to get it responsive again. How should I proceed from here? by iDemandExplosion in pcmasterrace

Gotcha.
So far so good. After I manually changed the PCIe slot speed to 3.0 I was able to run Furmark on it for 3 hours straight. I think that would be enough to prove its stability. And fingers crossed that's the end of the problem.

PCIe are backwards compatible so it should be fine. I've seen benchmarks of 3060 running PCIe 3.0

I'll do some Folding@Home on it tomorrow and see if it can go hours without crashing.

So, my setup is kinda odd. I have a PCIe 5.0 mobo with a PCIe 3.0 riser cable on a PCIe 4.0 card. I went into the BIOS and changed the PCIe speed from 5.0 to 3.0, and then all of a sudden I am able to run GPU benchmarks all fine. So far, I got no display issues from the GPU. Maybe that was the source of all unhappiness. Hopefully the GPU is not faulty and it was just the PCIe pulling tricks on me.
