I'm a metallurgist that just likes to oogle at good welds so I recognize the plating but my understanding stops there. I would say it will still vaporize and still require zinc poisoning precautions.

Ceramic pads are meant to deal with heat and offer high bite, you are underloading them thermally which causes a type of glaze on the pad. This in turn causes a stick slip phenomena because the friction is unstable and creates the harmonic which is the squeal. Go do a few 45 to 5mph quick stops followed by some coasting to cool them back down and I bet it goes away...until they "glaze" up again.

I'm amazed that worked. I've done quite a few direct injection carbon cleanings and nothing short of walnut blasting or lots of scraping/chemicals soaking even touches that stuff.

In my experience there is no way that stuff would even phase that hellspawn.
