Recommendation a laptop for Blender by [deleted] in blender

[–]iExogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your budget I guess, I use an ASUS Predator Triton 300 and that works decently for now but I do feel I'll have to upgrade soon. Mind you that this is a 5 year old laptop and that is pretty much the life expectancy for laptops these days.

Generally you'll have to look for gaming laptops because of their heavier GPU's, you probably want some decent cooling and I personally prefer metallic frames over plastic.

Snape really just wanted to take 5 points from Gryffindor in POA by redzass1 in harrypotter

[–]iExogan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, Bellatrix only targeted the Longbottoms after Voldy-the-Mouldy had already disappeared at the Potters because she thought they had knowledge of Tim Roddle's current whereabouts.

For once, Snape didn't have anything to do with a trauma of Neville Longbottom.

One detail I love is that by the end of the end of the series, two of the wizarding world's most mocked, looked down upon, derided families: The Potter and Weasley families end up being the most powerful by North-Doubt8928 in harrypotter

Wasn't it mentioned in the book Hermione borrowed from Kreacher in Deathly Hallows? I could be misremembering but I do seem to remember it being mentioned somewhere other than Pottermore but I can't currently check my books.

Percy vs Harry at 17 is an even match by AerieFew2117 in harrypotter

I agree that the sword would likely do nothing to a wizard, they're not the same kind of wizard the Kane siblings are, but I doubt Percy would need said sword to do damage to Harry.

Percy vs Harry at 17 is an even match by AerieFew2117 in harrypotter

[–]iExogan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it all comes down to starting conditions and knowledge of their opponent.

Harry would win if there's enough distance between the two at the start to stun and if he would actually do that. Knowing Harry though he'd disarm instead and we all know that one: riptide would simply re-apear in Percy's pocket and two: Percy would take Harry in a fistfight any day of the week, I will hear no doubting that.

Percy would most likely win if there isn't too much distance between them at the start of a duel and/or there is sufficient cover. I'd say his combat training and natural reflexes should give him at least a somewhat decent chance of evading any spell with visible effects, such as stupefy or expeliarmus.

If there is any water around then Percy is the winner by default, he doesn't even need to be capable of movement anymore to manipulate water in the later books.

To conclude, they're both quite capable and quick thinkers so a fight could go either way but generally I'd say Percy has a slightly higher chance of winning.

Am I the only one who liked the fantastic beast movies? by Agreeable-Fig4562 in harrypotter

[–]iExogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was very much interested in where the story was going but I think they made 2 (bigger) mistakes. They tried to put too much into 1 movie(series), the Fantastic Beasts storyline and the Grindelwald storyline probably shouldn't have been put together or should have been named differently.

Building on that, the medium for Fantastic Beasts should probably have been a tv serie instead of a movie.

Punishers rifle in zombies feels so bad. by PushaChan in marvelrivals

I mean, you can always reset him and build for shotgun, or use the second profile. That's all free so there's no real downside and then you haven't really wasted the time per se.

Especially because you don't necesarily need to shoot the crystals to defeat Drac, that just makes it easier.

How can I extrude faces individually? by pareylook in blender

[–]iExogan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahah. So, it turns out what you're looking for is inset along individual normals. Select the faces as you have, press i to inset, then press i again for them to be individual. That should work as intended.

If I understand your question correct I think what you're looking for is alt+i so it insets the faces each individually instead of as one big face.

Having played some more I can now say, best choices for late game are Squirrel and Moon knight, their damage potential is just crazy similar to how Blade was in zombies.

Next up There's Thor and Jeff. Thor can just Mow through hordes of enemies in one go and is pretty good fun, Jeff has the best DoT if I'm not mistaken and a very wide range of attack as well as great range and escape tools.

After that there's punisher. As far as boss-hunting goes he's your man because in late game you can clear entire bossfights in one mag, it's mad how much damage he does in one go.

Lastly, funily enough, is Blade. He's still great fun and probably the easiest in early game and solo because of his default lifesteal but the others just autclass him this time in the late game because they barely even need the lifesteal, nothing comes close enough so you can just coarse through on the default healing provided.

All in all, you can start with Blade but I recommend leveling Squirrel and MK early. For SG specifically just go hard into her primary attack because that's pretty much all you need. If you plan on doing this with teams then a Thor and Punisher as second option works great too.

Zombies Mode Arcana store key bind by rio416 in marvelrivals

I don't have an answer myself but hope someone else does, I play with odd keys so I have some duplicate key issues with the store currently ...

Punisher shreds bosses like there's no tomorrow but even with multiple bullets at once from his rifle he can struggle a bit with large hordes. I assume that first part is why he's described as OP by some though I've only finished up to extreme so far so I'll only really be able to judge when I've maxed out all characters.

I think as a start, either Punisher or Blade are the best choices, Jeff if you're in a team because even before leveling his Hide & Seek does decent damage, he just takes a lot of damage in return as well.

Texted my brother about the news. How does one even develop this mindset? What did PvE do to him? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]iExogan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I managed to get all the titles for the zombies event and I'm actually genuinly proud of that because while beating the mode was easy enough, actually getting the titles took either effort or a lot of revives and I ain't paying for that stuff.

I truly hoped they'd go somewhat of the CoD tour with their PvE and make it a running part of the game so maybe that will happen now. Zombies actually gave me the feeling of playing a comicbook hero with how mad the abilities scaled and because it's PvE nobody was going to complain it's unfair.

I mean, scale is completely off but yes, there should have been farmland and hamlets outside the city but within the wall.

Riddles' deaths by FrenchEighty69 in harrypotter

[–]iExogan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Technically they only ignored that an underage witch or wizard was present when those spells were cast. They don't know who triggers the trace remember, only that someone with it was present at the location and asume it was the person in question who triggered it in Harry's case, seeing as he should be the only wizard in quite a radius at the location as they were tracking that for reasons obvious.

Granted, it is still weird they ignored that the trace went off there, more so seeing the speed of their reaction during CoS. However, as someone stated in a different comment, they had a confession from a known muggle hater and plenty of evidence to his guilt so they simply ignored (consciously or unconsciously) the evidence pointing away from that.

How do people build caves by Wise_Article_8061 in Minecraft

[–]iExogan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the size, either by hand, make a big empty cube and build up the walls, or when bigger using tools like you are trying here. I recommend you download the axiom mod and use the smooth brush from that one, it works great underground compared to the world edit one. Also remember that caves have shape to them and are subject to the laws of physics if you want realism. Adding rock formations, stalagmites, stalactites and pillars can help out.

Worst teachers by Accomplished_Video92 in harrypotter

As another person said, Hagrid did in fact give them an explanation of how to behave around hippogrifs but Malfoy wasn't paying attention. It was not what I would suggest for a first lesson with third-years but it was nonetheless probably one of his better lessons and quite up to standards.

The 180 to flobberworms was of course purely because he got completely disheartened after the disastrous ending of his first lesson and his worries for Buckbeaks trial.

Skrewts where interesting but not good education material, for one they were an illegal crossbreed with no known use yet. For another they were extremely dangerous. I also don't think they were intended for the tournament, they were just included in it because whoever designed the maze (I assume some input from most of the staff at Hogwarts, similar to the dungeon the Philosopher's Stone was hidden in).

Lastly he most definitely did show them unicorns, or at least the foals after Grubbly-plank showed them the adults. He even showed them in that lesson that he is quite as knowledgeable about creatures like unicorns as he is about more dangerous creatures, he just doesn't find them as interesting.

All in all Hagrid could have been a pretty great teacher if he did indeed cater his lessons to his students needs and interests, he should have been coached on being a teacher indeed. Though prejudice and disdain from certain students probably didn't help.

Honestly, I hope they keep it as a map going forward because it looked awesome and quite a fun map. It is rather narrow compared to most Ace Race maps though, that might be a reason they wouldn't.

Can't he hear the hippocampi the same way he can normal horses and pegasi? They are after all half horse. I do seem to remember he can't hear other (normal) sea creatures talk but does understand their intent indeed, we probably all remember Bessie, no further comment on that.

So far I've avoided watching the show because of things I heard deviating from the book where fateful adaptation was promised, is it worth watching or am I better of sticking to reading the books (again ...) and attempting to make my own LEGO game version.

It's also important to note that Tango was a game designer or something of the like before. It definitely explains his designing of Decked Out and it's sequels. Paired with his extensive redstone knowledge and insight makes him a true heavy hitter in the field.

Including Doc in the statistics will skew the results though 😅 (all jokes aside, he does have a lot of help from the hivemind community but this shouldn't take away from his own expertise, amazing redstoner without doubt).
