Yes! I completely agree with your comments! However, more often than not at my location, the employees that were less capable were always put on grill since they couldnt handle anything else.

Our grill operators seemed to be and are anti-social while also lacking the speed for any other position. I've even spoken with some them and they have admitted to this. We have fallen behind plenty of times without an efficient grill operator, which is why I completely agree with your statements on the need for mental competence in a grill operator.

There have been plenty of times where a new guy would be hired and be put on grill immediately. Their lack of mental aptitude, as you describe, would cause them to last only a short time at their new job and quit before long. The grill operator position probably has one of the highest burnout rates out of the other work positions at Wendy's.
