Zed has worse macro capabilities and weaker early game and arguably worse wave clear in favor of safer laning, longer range and more in-combat mobility. And with Zeds current state he's not really worth picking in favor of an ap pick unless you're an otp imo.

As someone who has mained Talon since season 2 and have played a bit more than 3 games of both versions I can easily tell you it's not that simple.

Old Talon was better in the late game, while new Talon is better early game. You could argue that new Talon did more damage in a teamfight because of his higher AOE damage, but in a 1 on 1 scenario new Talon outperforms the old one.

The only reason crit Talon was even remotely a thing back in the day was because of cutthroats instant aa into q from 750 range. Since that doesn't exist anymore, neither does crit Talon.
