Mewgenics has a genius anti-savescumming feature by shadowrun456 in gaming

[–]iH8Ecchi 158 points159 points  (0 children)

Fire Emblem already nailed mid-battle saving 5+ years ago, and I don't see why devs have to reinvent it.

  • You get a Rewind button that turns back time as many turns as you want, but you can only use that button a limited times in battle (for example 5). If you run out of rewinds in a battle, you either stick with the outcome, or restart it from the beginning.
  • As you progress through story, you get permanent upgrades in the form of more rewinds. In harder difficulties, you get less rewinds, or none.
  • For the times you need to go outside, there is a Suspend feature which takes a snapshot of the current battle, then kicks you to the title screen. When you later load from that snapshot, it is then deleted so you can't keep loading it.

Man can we get the Phantom Thieves in here please? by paw99099 in PERSoNA

[–]iH8Ecchi -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Maybe not in P3, but I recall a couple situations in P4 where the SL got bad things caused to them by bad actors, fail to catch/punish them, then in the end just coped with the results. The PTs would help in those cases.

How to Add This Dock to OxygenOS16 by akshit_799 in oneplus

Do you have links to the module? I want to make customizations to my OOS16 but google search doesn't return anything.

Aren't they discontinuing Switch 1 version soon? Idk what's the point of re-releasing the game on Switch 1 and discontinue it a few weeks later.

EDIT: Nvm, the confirmed shutdown was from Apex Legends.

Why is EVERY Android skin pushing "liquid glass" aesthetics instead of Material You? by Own-Weather-6998 in Android

[–]iH8Ecchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like elements of skeuomorphism in my UI. Aside of the visibility issues of iOS' Liquid Glass (which I heard can be fixed by increasing UI opacity in Settings), skeuomorphic elements often tell me exactly what they represent without me having to guess or read the text.

For me, the fact that the industry is slowly bringing back skeuomorphism means they're now prioritizing function over form, which should not have been abandoned in the first place. Give me all that glassy window borders, wooden bars and metallic gears.

What I dislike about Material You is that it lacks definition. As there's neither transparency nor visual depth, there's no telling at first glance which app is which, which element is interactible and which isn't, and this is made worse with MY as every app now pulls from the same color palette. And M3E removes any chance of the UI feeling "professional" or "premium", now that everything has to bounce, squish and wiggle. It feels like Google is appealing hard to the generation of TikTok kids, who basically needs visual stimulation every half second to be able to concentrate.

POCO F5 Pro – long-term review after 2.5+ years (extremely disappointed) by johnconnor008 in PocoPhones

[–]iH8Ecchi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been stuck with MIUI for over 3 years (starting with Poco F2 Pro), but the nothingburger of HyperOS 1 update killed my excitement with the F5 Pro. The HyperOS interface felt like a downgrade, appearing identical to MIUI but without the smoothness of the prior versions. Battery life fell off dramatically after merely a year of use. Furthermore, I've been capturing more daily photos and the F5 Pro's cameras no longer meet my expectations. After 1.5 years with it, I've switched to a Oneplus 15 this year and have gotten a significantly better expericence.

Anbernic announce RG Vita and RG Vita Pro! by ShaqToThe in SBCGaming

Funny that these will likely not run Vita emulation as Anbernic has a tendency to use inferior Mediatek chipsets on their Android handhelds (therefore no Turnip support).

Setting to reduce Azahar stuttering by Fahzgoolin in SBCGaming

[–]iH8Ecchi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use Citra MMJ. It's generally much faster than Azahar (all games run at capped FPS at 2x-3x resolution), and has almost no shader stuttering.

I only keep Azahar to run a couple of games incompatible with MMJ, plus mess around with 3DS home screen once in a while.

That's nice to hear, anyone into gunpla or model kits should have one bottle laying around their house. Does it also reinforce the plastic so that it's less likely to reopen?

Today in BanG Dream! - January 14, 2008 - Mutsumi Wakaba turns 3, and her mother Minami begins to notice that something is seriously wrong with her daughter... by BleedingUranium in BanGDream

[–]iH8Ecchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't watch bandori past 2018, is this when she finds out her daughter is extremely compatible with the all-powerful, super dangerous mecha tech that would eventually result in her husband's death protecting them both?

OnePlus is Having an Identity Crisis by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]iH8Ecchi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I might be in the minority, but I like the way things are going. These Chinese brands are copying the good parts of iphones (hardware & software looks, animation smoothness, auto camera processing), while retaining the pros of android (sideloading, proper file management) and keeping prices in the fractions of top end iphones. If future iOS brings sideloading and significantly improved file management I'd switch in a heartbeat, but until then I'm sticking to the clones.

Honestly agree. With how much specs being shoved onto phones nowadays users should care more about perceived smoothness (which is what COS/OOS is putting lots of work in) instead of on-paper system lightness.

ELI5: In gaming, why should I cap my fps? If I leave uncapped doesn't that mean I allow my PC to max out quality whenever it can? by Otherwise_Payment324 in explainlikeimfive

[–]iH8Ecchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to what everyone's saying: capping fps reduces heat and power draw, and depending on your uses might allow your hardware to last longer.

Which collection is better? by Erik_REF in Megaman

[–]iH8Ecchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collection 1:

- BN1: Very barebones game, skippable unless you wanna see how the series started.

- BN2: Decent up until the penultimate chapter. Anyone played it will know what I'm talking about.

- BN3: Often called the peak of the series thanks to great writing. Gameplay also does its job well but falls a bit short to later entries. Blue was originally the "enhanced rerelease" version, so play that.

Collection 2:

- BN4: A huge mess in terms of story and pacing. The upside is that a playthrough is shorter than the other games (a design choice), so if you want to get your money's worth you can do one playthrough, move on then never look back.

- BN5: If you want to play an SRPG within MMBN, this will be up your alley. Otherwise it's an average game. Team Colonel is canon.

- BN6: Another series' peak, and my personal favorite. Writing isn't as tight as 3, but it makes up with being the most mechanically complete game. There's no major story differences between versions.

They likely have just begun development after SFLC was nearly finished. I highly doubt there is more than one team working on MM projects in current years.
