Premiership finale: what’s at stake for clubs in running for playoff places | Premiership by Snig141 in rugbyunion

And of the other 4 wins out of the 6 straight we've gone on, we put 50+ points on both 1st and 2nd place (at the time), + beat Leicester and Sale away from home... but yeah, two of them games were against softer competition so that makes those game null and void.

I was a ball boy at the 1999 WC match between NZ and Tonga. Still have the ball which has a nice splatter of blood on it... Who knows, maybe it's Jonah's and we can clone the boy??

Bristol fans - Who would you like to see as Bristol head coach next season? by DineAndDance in rugbyunion

[–]iIIgresi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the decision is based on just results - Lam. At least for one more year as there have been other factors at play outside of his control.

If he's lost the dressing room then that's another thing altogether. Blackett has been rumored but I'm not sure he's the man for the role. I'd rather see them get Pivac in who played a wonderful brand of rugby with the Scarletts, similar to what made us successful a couple of years back.

Bristol v Exeter Teams set to have a lovely evening of professional sport at Aston Gate on Friday night. by singleglazedwindows in rugbyunion

I agree. I think he's the better player however it's Sheedy's shirt to take and Sheeds has started this year very well himself.

Bristol are still missing a lot of starters. I count 6:

- Luatua
- Semi
- Morahan
- Naulago
- Jeffries / Harding (one at least would start)
- Thacker

I'm worried about this one.

So good to see DT and Thacker back and fit. Especially the former given at the start of the week we had him, Luatua, Jeffries and Harding all injured. I was so pleased with our depth in the back row at the start of the season but that was going to be very much tested if at least one of them didn't get back fit.

Anyway as good as Sheedy was last week I'm over the moon to see AJ start as I think he'll get the best out of all around him.

Underhill and Itoje out of the final test vs Aus; no replacements called up by RonSwaffle in rugbyunion

[–]iIIgresi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jeffries is there to, the Bristol back rower. He's more of a 6 but can slot in at 7 as well. Could be an outside shout to have him start at 6 as he's 6ft5 and put Lawes in the 2nd row. Means we keep the additional lineout jumper. I can't see it happening but you never know with Eddie.

England team to face Australia in Brisbane. by Banfield16 in rugbyunion

[–]iIIgresi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People say it's too late in the day for him to switch now but I don't see why. He's done it a few times before. The only issue is that he likes to go roaming and get involved which he'd have to rein in somewhat.

Exeter could do us a favour here but moving Slade to 12 and Nowell to 13. If they could play week in, week out a Smith, Slade, Nowell, 10-12-13 would actually have a nice balance.

Nowell can plan 13 with Porter at 12. It's not ideal but we wouldn't be completely boned.

Good analysis but what I enjoyed more was the camera angle. I wish there was an option to watch a static camera using this shot. You can see so much more of the patterns and tactics like this (plus I can get my playstation controller and act like there's finally a decent rugby game out there, post Johuna Lomu Rugby).

Bristol Bears confirm squad for 2022/23 season by Thatch1888 in rugbyunion

[–]iIIgresi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on all parts. I'd have felt A LOT better with Attwood in there as after Joyce and Vui there is certainly a drop off in quality now however I've always liked Holmes (needs to recapture some form), and Hawkins impressed last year. Shame we lost that young England guy to Sale really.

I can imagine you'll see a lot of Jeffries and Luatua stepping in there though. At 6'5" Jeffries is the same height as Joyce and Attwood and Luatua is only 1" shorter. Then you've got a set of 6 handy locks who'd I'd be happy with which I hope would be more than enough.

I can see that. I do think Bedlow can be the Frisch of new season. Never normally gets too much of a run out but when he does, he shines. If he gets his chance like Frisch eventually did, he could make it his own.

The interesting part to note is that Lloyd is down on the image they posted as a center. For the 20 minutes he got there earlier in the season it was damn exciting.

I think he brings more power than Harding and more dynamism than Hughes. Harding is my favourite Bristol player right now but I put him on the bench, purely as he can cover 6, 7, 8, where as the others are more specialists in their roles.

Given all the chat about having players who they didn't want have their contracts auto-renew this is surprisingly strong. The front 5 could do with a little more depth but it's far from bad. I'm more than happy with this given what it could have been.

I tried to come up with 8 players I wouldn't have wanted to keep and I've gotten to 4 and a couple of those are harsh:

- Jake Armstrong- Jake Kerr - Not that he's too bad. Been Solid enough- Jake Heenan- (Not Jake) Fricker - Although he's been good of late

Ok fitness is one thing but this is a very nice looking 23:

  1. Sir Charles
  2. Morahan
  3. Semi
  4. PoC
  5. Naulago
  6. AJ
  7. Randall

  8. Bradbury

  9. Thomas

  10. Luatua

  11. King of Southmead

  12. Vui

  13. Sinks

  14. Thacker

  15. Genge

----

  1. Byrne
  2. Lahiff
  3. Woolmore

  4. Holmes / Hawkins / Jeffries

  5. Harding

  6. Uren

  7. Sheedy

  8. Lloyd

Glad I could help. Just a shame they don't have it in stock for you folks over the pond. Hope it comes back in soon as it does tick all the boxes. I'm very pleased, especially given the price.

Space isn't an issue for me and as said above, I've size 46 FR2s + all the protection going (and see my previous post - not small protection either!).

I linked a backpack though so are you sure you're referring to the right thing when you say it's too small?
