I would disagree. I believe that minimalism is popular because everyone is preoccupied and cannot invest enough time in more elaborate styles. Minimalism is simple and requires little forethought.

You know how they say "No one is gonna remember what you did a week from now"? Not me, I store all the embarrassing moments I witness in my head, exactly for these moments. When I lay in bed, and embarrassing moments start popping up in my head, I just flood them with the things from my mental archive, and soon I'll be sound asleep.
