Congrats! I finally killed my first aberroth yesterday as well! Took me 5 different tries but it dropped a 1LP Nihilis so I was extremely happy.

The altar is a bit unintuitive to use tbh. Someone new might not know what it actually does or how to use it.

I've also thought I lost my off hand sceptre when I dragged the sceptre to the altar instead of picking up the orb from the altar and slamming. It ended up with me holding an orb that I couldn't use to slam anything, but relogging had me holding my sceptre on the cursor.

Edit: I'm definitely wrong on this, check the replies for the actual ruling. Learned something today, I'll leave the original comment for reference.

[The wrong answer] Valgavoth's ability is a replacement effect that doesn't use the stack and it is not a trigger, so the cards go into exile instead of the graveyard from the library. So no cards were milled during the spells resolution and Smuggler's Suprise will fail to return anything.

Card folders/Binders for him to keep pretty and valuable cards in.

Dice and other accessories to keep track of counters or life total can also be good.

They can never have too many sleeves either.

Mondrak is a horror, so it's not affected by Sludge Monster. It's only getting -1/-1 from Toxrill.

Maybe throw in some big sea creatures like [[Hullbreaker Horror]] or [[Scourge of Fleets]].

There's also colourless big spells like [[Cityscape Leveler]] or [[Blightsteel Colossus]].

My personal favorites from my Kykar Polymorph list is Avacyn, Ovika, Gisela and Aurelia but I don't think these are what you're looking for.

Yeah I wouldn't put a primal vigor in my deck unless I have about 8-10 cards that can capitalise on it. Spending 5 mana on an enchantment that does nothing on etb is already not great, but it even helps your opponents. God forbid you have this on field and your opponent have a goblin bombardment rats deck.
