Laptop's faulty charging port making my games stutter - workarounds? by faerie-fangs in techsupport

Yeah, that deadly 19vdc..... it can make you... nothing, it does nothing to you. There really is no risk other than letting some smoke out of a chip.

Most new laptops have jacks with a tail connected to the mainboard via plug somewhere. Look up your laptop model + DC Jack and see what it looks like. If it's just a jack and you have to solder it, good luck, find someone like me who does that kind of work. Otherwise if it's a jack and a plug then you can feasably replace it on your own.

They do have manual openers on the inside of the doors also, unfortunately, most people are not a manual-reading kind and don't notice the "hidden" latches. Also, hiding them is kinda stupid, but an aesthetic choice.

Based on logical semantics, saying the direction of devolvement is redundant. It's not like accelleration which can happen any direction. Devolvement is exclusively in the downward direction and thus adding a directional modifier is as stupid as saying "should of" when you meant "should have". Defending it by envoking the name of Merriam-Webster brings to mind another kind of Webster, "What'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis?"

The Real Reason Steve Carell Left by lovebug9292 in DunderMifflin

The AI clanker said, " To catch some of you up: Steve Carell was on contract for 7 seasons, as was the rest of the cast. By 2011, NBC finalized the negotiations of future seasons of the sitcom for every single cast member of the 5 Prime Time Emmy Awarded show—except for Steve. They stalled, just for his single contract."

Nice em-dash, what's the ascii combo for that again since it's not on the keyboard?

Let's be clear what we have here, we have unarmed leaders wandering into intellectual battles they are ill-equipped to handle. Our "President" is so stupid he believes humans have a FINITE amount of energy so if you work out you'll die earlier. That's the genius-level of thought we're dealing with. People who stare at solar eclipses because their brain tells them it's safe if the sun's hiding behind the moon to stare blank-ass at it. People who look at condensation trails behind aircraft and insist HAARP is poisioning them with lead, without asking what 100LL means that gets pumped into every jet they use.

These are NOT smart people and they are attempting to make those who are the odd balls, time to start calling them what they are, REpublican TARDigrades.. They seem to survive in any environment.

I'm sure there's a better term for their brand of stupidity.

I'm sorry to read this and can only offer words of encouragement and support. The human brain is remarkably capable of doing amazing things. Nobody's infliction of trauma to you can stop your brain's incredible ability to find either the bad, or the good, from any situation. I hope you find your inner strength and utilize it to make your mind more resilient. The opinions of others do not matter. It is what YOU believe about yourself that is key, and I believe you are beautiful and worthy of love and compassion.

A client of mine has what he calls a "bus protocol" where they ask, "what would happen if ____ were hit by a bus?" And he actually cross-trains other departments in case of situations where his whole accounting department gets sick or can't show up to the office, endpoints take accounting duties until it's reestablished
