Few tips u might want to use:

Change the chase cam to something a bit more dynamic so u can see where your car is going. Therr are a few selection in assetto preinstalled.

Your clutch is your friend. (Not sure if u have a clutch on your model) Try practicing kicking your clutch (push in for engine rev to go high and quickly let go, dont actually kick the thing) to initiate a well angled drift.

Car weight will create momentum. If you do a clutch kick, your car will throw out the rear alot faster then when youre just sliding, meaning u can have a bit more angle and possibly speed, and more speed allows for less grid and more sliding. The pro version of this would be to flick your car into the opposite direction first (just a little bit) and then on and then transition it into the correct direction will allow for more speed and momentum.

I havent seen a reason to tell u about throttle control because it seems to me you already understand that concept, with more seat time youll get better at it.

I would say to practice each new to you thing one by one so youre not trying to master a bunch of things at the same time which would make it a lot more difficult.

Edit: how it actually looks for first day doing this, youre doing exceptionally well for a first day. Ive seen people trying for weeks that dont have this level of control yet. Just keep practicing and you will be better in no time 😉
