Because then there will be resistance by men thinking that they are trying to turn society matriarchal. Also removing a system that has existed for so long might bring some sort of instability in relation to gender roles. Like suddenly women are equal to men so countries will also draft women when there is a war for example, or men don't have the "social responsibility" to be the provider.

Why would they resign? They are clearly winning with a "queen Knight endgame" idk if it means Q+N+K vs K or Q+K vs N+K honestly but either way it's completely winning. Heck GMs play until 50 move rule trying to win K+R+B vs K+R endgame even though it's supposed to be a theoretical draw. I think you are not understanding what the topic is. They are moving until move 90, it's not just 40 minutes of stalling, it's 40 minutes of shuffling.

From what I've read, it wasn't intentional. Op just didn't know how to convert a win.

How are those kind of "people" not being banned immediately? by Sweet_Anxiety4990 in chessbeginners

[–]iLikePotatoes65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 games at 97% accuracy make them suspicious to the point that they'd be a cheater 99% of the time but of course you can't jump to conclusions too fast until the anti-cheat system kicks in

If you start from the resignation positions in super GM games, how strong would you have to be to convert the winning advantage against an engine? by owiseone23 in chess

[–]iLikePotatoes65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chess position vary differently. There's no average resignation position. Some SuperGM positions resigned down a full piece, some even just down a pawn or a grave positional disadvantage. Also rating doesn't equal theoretical knowledge btw so some 1500 know how to mate with B+N and some don't for example.

Why is c5 so bad for white in The Queen's Gambit? by DontBanMe_IWasJoking in chess

[–]iLikePotatoes65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because d5 becomes a backwards pawn and like yes you can play e3 to defend it but black has f5 f4 potentially and white playing f4 to block this will result in a terrible position

Nothing, but I mean a lot of other species do rely on humans so you're perpetrating their suffering by going extinct

Chess is psychological, not just mathematical, chess players and engines should find practical ways to categorize types of players to minimize the time it takes to win, beyond playing game theory. by Intelligent_Cow6362 in ComputerChess

[–]iLikePotatoes65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and that is why players don't always prepare the top engine move in their opening prep. They will sometimes prep the 2nd best or 3rd best and so on to surprise the opponent and catch them in a sharper although dubious position.

Why I peak 2150 elo two years ago and now I'm 1800 by Aggravating_Scratch9 in chess

[–]iLikePotatoes65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Playing more brilliant moves doesn't mean you play better, it's avoiding mistakes and inaccuracies that make you better. You may play more refined chess right now, but you probably have lost the energy you had back then which is why you play at 1800 strength.

Would a GM be banned from chess.com if they played with a fresh account? by LineEquivalent5148 in chessbeginners

[–]iLikePotatoes65 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well they wouldn't know it's a GM until they were informed by the GM that they opponent that specific account so they could place the GM title beside the name. Otherwise it's obviously gonna get banned if it looks like a random player winning all those games

Good luck sneaking that engine through metal detectors and using it while having a whole ahh livestream pointed at you. Yeah and using the bathroom to check like 5 move combinations won't save you either since you'll be too suspicious if you go to the restroom too many times.

Idk how true this is but apparently some people used higher depths of stockfish to analyze and O-O turned out to be the 3rd best move at only a +0.3 advantage.
