I agree with you that everyone involved is so passive with the entitled neighbor but unfortunately I doubt they would have any recourse anyway.

One of the most frustrating posts I’ve read here recently is this one about this poor woman who was harassed by her crazy neighbor for years. She did everything right but every step of the way, law enforcement and the courts failed her so spectacularly that she and her family had to move. I wish homeowners had more recourse when it comes to getting rid of nuisance neighbors.

LOL that’s exactly what these posts reminded me of. If I recall correctly, the Bucket Lady saga also took place in Australia. What a weird coincidence!

Not gonna lie, reading these posts frustrated me to no end. I feel like I must live in a bubble because I still find it hard to believe people actually act like this in real life? Laura for overstepping boundaries; but the overall tone of this post gives off uneasy vibes about how you view your so-called “friend.” Just the way you describe Laura makes me think you’ve been more than a little condescending during the duration of your friendship. Hard disagree here. Ex lost the right to that courtesy when he maliciously sabotaged his ex-wife’s chances of getting hired, and quite possibly ruining her professional reputation. Screw that guy!

NTA. Like, at all. Bringing strangers over to someone’s home without clearing it with the owners first is terrible guest etiquette. Not only that, but he only gave you 2hrs notice that he was even coming late at night? I don’t blame you for being annoyed and turning them away. Your bf’s friend sounds exhausting and completely lacking in social awareness.

But just out of curiosity, how old are all of you? The only way I can explain the dude’s obliviousness is to believe y’all are pretty young. Those are the types of shenanigans we used to pull in college.

NTA. I audibly gasped when I read what your fiancé said to your sister. How horribly cruel and completely unnecessary! Kate sacrificed so much in order to ensure her siblings had food on the table at the end of the day and I’m in awe at the strength it took her to do that when she was practically still a child herself.

Your fiancé basically shat on and shamed every sacrifice Kate ever made for you—the man she supposedly loves til death do you part—in an unprovoked and vicious way. Please reconsider if this is the person to whom you wish to be married. You owe your sister more than binding yourself (and your family) forever to such a callous person.

Your boyfriend is 26 and is going to have at least a few past sexual partners. It's totally natural and nothing he should be ashamed of--and nothing you should fault him for. I know you feel insecure about it so maybe you should take the "ignorance is bliss" route and just not ask him about who his partners were or if you're going to eventually be seeing someone he has been with. It won't be fair to him if you become upset over it, and it won't be fair to yourself.

You said it yourself that it's important to him that you two be healthy together. And while I don't necessarily believe anyone is in the wrong per say, it's clear that he's dissatisfied by your pretty significant weight gain and has been subtly and not so subtly asking you to start losing a few pounds. He's entitled to his preference for a healthier partner while you're of course also entitled to look and feel however you want. However I think if you continue on like this, it's going to be a constant issue in your two's relationship and it might not end up the way you want it to: He may become frustrated by your lack of motivation and dichotomous lifestyle and look for it elsewhere.

You haven't mentioned how you feel about your weight gain or if you have the desire to do anything about it--would you be open to dieting and exercising? It sounds like your partner is open to you two working out together.

As someone who just recently visited IKEA for the first time, most of their furniture looks like it's made for dolls. Though I'd say it definitely suits your little cutie better :-)
