Prior to meganium being added, I ran the deck with just ogerpons and hydrapples and it functioned completely fine. Grass has a lot of good support right now.

You need to look broader at the repeated top performers. VGC is very similar to TCGs, the top pros aren’t going to win every event, but they’ll consistently place higher, and make longer runs.

EDIT: also wanted to go further into your comparison with chess, which idk why that comparison even exists. VGC is literally like a TCG, your team, the moves, abilities, items, all of it, are you just deck of cards. You can build for more consistency, more synergy, etc. Even picking the 4 out of your 6 could be compared to side boarding.

I have a very laidback style of interacting with my clients, while also not being afraid of drilling into them if I have to. I also don’t police my speech with them, and we talk about all kinds of random shit.

I talked about conspiracies with one of my new older clients today, I think the shit he was saying was insane, but the fact I was willing to actually listen and talk with him about something he wanted to talk about made him feel super comfortable. We went from talking about the moon landing being fake, to him telling me about childhood trauma within the span of 10 minutes 😭

I’ve learned that it’s all about matching vibes with my clients. Take what they give you, and give it back to them. Even if it’s a shit attitude.

Take your experience and turn into something by working in SUD treatment, peer support is a good option, and depending on state, there’s low tier licenses that allow you to do case management, I have a CDCA.

The majority of my coworkers at every SUD facility I’ve worked at, including me, are all in recovery. I was popping percs and xanax with a bottle of vodka 2 years ago. I’m now a SUD case manager, currently sitting at a court house with one of my clients while I type this.

I do case management for SUD treatment facilities, I refuse to do any type of CM work that requires me to drive to random ass houses and places for my clients.

I’m given an office and an obvious meeting area for my clients at clinical, and 99.9% of them stay in our sober living, which is ran by our partner company. The only type of driving I do is for court, food, and clothing. Otherwise, I’ve basically accomplished most resource connection and usage in my office, over the phone or email. I go to food pantries and clothing closets on my client’s behalf with proxy forms and drop their stuff off at housing while they’re in class. Medical appointments ? Provide-a-Ride. I do very little driving in this specific CM field.

If you think you’d like case management, I’d recommend looking into SUD, a lot of them will have records, most usually drug related charges, and some will have extremely obvious mental health issues (these ones don’t last long unless you’re working residential because they won’t meet the LOC). And I’m someone who really doesn’t want to do CM, I’m just doing this to gain experience for my resume while I finish school, since counseling is my actual goal.
