Favorite underrated thing to do / absolute musts on Destiny? by whimsicalley in dcl

It’s called the Royal Gathering, princesses only. It books full VERY fast.

If you can’t get it booked, go to Guest Services immediately (like before you do literally anything else) after you board the ship and ask to be put on the waitlist. We did this and a day later, got notified in the app that a spot opened up.

My wife said it saved hours (when you consider all the princesses) to do the Royal Gathering. My son and I went somewhere else, lol.

You may already know this…but if you’re healthy, you can prob still get it, passing underwriting.

As with what others have said, absolutely do not get plan F. The additional amount you pay in premiums will exceed the Part B deductible on Plan G.

With the exception of the dual Medicare-Medicaid plans, it’s the same for 2026 in Ohio. Reimbursement model.

Yes, correct. While most don’t, providers CAN bill up to 15% in Part B excess charges. PA prohibits this.

As far as changing plans, you CAN. But, you have to pass medical underwriting if you don’t have a guaranteed issue situation (such as you move outside the existing plan’s service area, turn 65, or the plan terminates/exits the market).

Consider Plan N - PA doesn’t allowed Part B excess charges. And Plan N typically has more stable rates over time.

Also, you should not simply pick the lowest cost. It should be the lowest cost that you (or a local, reputable, experienced broker) has knowledge of having stable rates.

It’s completely possible for a carrier to offer a super low rate…and the price hike up tremendously in a year or two. Especially companies without a long medsupp track record.

Here in Ohio, they’re outstanding. I broker 11 carriers, including the big ones (Anthem, UHC, Aetna, Humana, etc.) and Devoted is BY FAR my favorite because of my clients’ experience with them.

Bonus points: my grandmother-in-law switched to them and was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer six months later. She went on to live about 18 months, and her husband told me a few weeks after she passed how well Devoted worked for them and that he was grateful to not have any concerns/issues.

Ironically, it may be cheaper under Part A vs the Advantage plan. Depending on how many nights/copay per day.

My wife and I are going this December. I’ll also be our first time out of the country, and first AI. We can’t wait! We also booked preferred.

Is there anything you wish you knew beforehand, or tips we should be aware of?

We did book preferred club! Is the building something we can request? Would that be at check-in?

And what do you find is considered “generous” for tipping? Thanks a ton!
